Default SUPER EXCITING DISCUSSION ABOUT poles

    hiya,

i saw a thread a bit ago about some platinum stages removable pole that works on friction... has anyone actually gotten one? i don't think these new ones have been around long, maybe 6 months. the real question is, what happens if you do a trick that requires momentum (and hence, extra force applied to the pole) is it sturdy?

i hope i don't get any replies that start out "i'm having my sister type this because my back is broken..."

yes I have one... it has the static/spinning feature... you have to make sure that it is on the stud so you have to make sure you have a reliable stud finder or you can have a huge hole in your ceiling. My only problem with this pole is at the base theres a huge thing that protects the spinning/ static flanges. I kept on banging my foot or leg into this everytime I did any pole to floor moves until I got a good thick towel wrapped it around and taped it. Other than that as a practice pole it's good.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

    Crap!
I was thinking about buying one of those newer poles from platinum for my "Stripper Camp"....
Somebody please tell me if it's worth it.
I'm talking specifically about the stage that has that brunette woman demonstrating how sturdy it is...
should i buy one??? should i buy two?

No don't buy it.... read my response above regarding the platinum stage static/spinning removable pole.... If I knew what I knew now I would have gotten a lil mynx even though it's a little more expensive.

Girl, listen to muyaha. Those things are crap! I ALMOST got suckered into one too. I finally got to try one out at my club when I first started there. The owner said it was good in the beginning, but the girls complained about a lot of things (poles to short, stage too small etc...) but then the fucking thing started wobbling like crazy! Now he says they only use it in photo shoots. so.... if you wanna drop a grip on a crappy stage that'll wind up being a PROP in the end.... *need I say more?*

If you get a pole, I recommend I think thats it..or lilminx.com. They have the poles like you are talking about, and these have the option of spinning or not spinning. No stage with them though, which I like..plus they can custom make a pole to fit your ceiling if it's shorter or taller.

I built a wood stage base and had a friend that works in construction get me the holders and a brass pole. I simply installed it myself. And to add a touch I added glitter onto the stage and then glossed it also adding black lights and glowing things when I was finished. Great project.

now THAT'S impressive!!! :-)) if i lived in a house i'd definitely have my own little stripper area, with mirrors, a small stage and pole. i even have a plan about hanging plants on the pole and making the whole area look like a greenhouse for when granny comes to visit.

but alas, i live in an apartment and have a roommate. i don't think he'd mind too much but i don't wanna walk in on him playing on it

The Platinum Removable Remobvable Pole operates on swiss made bearings. We are the only pole to use actual commercial quality bearings. That is the reason for the cover plate. It has been redesigned and is curved and only 4" tall. We at Platinum Stages have a 7 day satisfaction policy so that if you are not satisfied you may return the pole for a full refund.

Over 2000 Platinum Removable Poles have been sold since inception 4 months ago and we have had 99% positive feedback about the quality of the pole in comparison to competitors poles and quality of workmanship on the pole.

Oooooh, talking about Poles? Those guys sure are good in bed! Oh, you meant stripper poles.........

Country girl stripper tip: use a cyclone fence post pole as a practice pole. Or an old volleyball post. Smile at all the neighbors when they figure out what you're doing outside dancing around the pole.......

ok. ok. who really knows until you try it? My pole'n'stage is on it's way. I can't freakin' wait. I have to admit, I printed out a bunch of pages from the platinum & other websites & took them with me to 2 different hardware stores to check the prices.
It IS TRUE, you can buy the regular pole/without stage for much less.
But, there pros & cons to constructing it yourself.
Since I'm poor, a cheap skate, incredibly busy, without the necessary power tools, and also RENTING the home i live in, I made a decision to go ahead & buy this pole for the "STRIPPER CAMP" workshop for the 2004 Sex Worker Arts Festival here in Tucson based on my pros & cons list.
After seeing the video(s) many times, looking like a C.S.I. agent for faults, reviewing their return policy, and speaking with 2 of the best customer service people on the face of the planet, I went ahead & spent $508 on a stage, pole, & shipping.
This is a lot of money to me. Comparing prices, testimonials, thoroughly reviewing their return policy, and finding out that I probably wouldn't be able to pull off the construction as well as they do (practice makes perfect)....I decided this would be a great investment.
    When the festival is over,
-I will have a pole& stage for tucson dancers to come & practice & teach on in the privacy of our own homes/humiliation.
-I have a pole & stage should I decide to take The Dance Loft up on teaching stripper class once a week.
-I have a pole & stage should I decide to do private parties.
AND it looks hella nice, not some dinky thing.
Trust me, as soon as i get it from UPS & set it up, I WILL let you all know how it goes.
