Default Going back to gym = Good move!

After a summer of barely exercising at all (some light cardio a couple times a week, sporadic yoga sessions) I have finally started going back to the gym. Haha, some of you ladies heard a long story about that!! After two weeks of going back, i've lost 5 pounds! Yay! I feel really motivated though, because if I skip a day...by the time 2 o clock rolls around i'm practically asleep. Rest days are important, I know, and I enjoy them. But if I skip an actual gym day, I get really pissed off at myself and don't feel good. This is a good sign. I'll hopefully post before and after pics if this leads to a lot of muscle gain/weight loss (Which it better!!!)

This is starting a different way, but when i lived out of a cooler for 11 days from hurricane Francis (no power) i lost 3 lbs!!! So, now i have decided to lose more. I was up to 155lbs, at 5'8", that's cool for me, but i was by no means a skinny woman. Now i think i will change that some! I plan on getting down to 140, and staying there.

I put a couple pictures in the gallery that don't show much, but mu BELLY is much smaller. The gym would be great, i don't have time, so i am drinking lots of water, and doing stretches along with any foods i want to eat, just not doing my "pigging out."

    Good luck to you ladies.

sometimes we need a break from the gym but going back to the gym with full force then losing weight is better than having been there the whole time and not giving your all.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Going to the gym is probably the single most positivie step you can do to improve your life. I know this firsthand because I uesd to go religiously and then I stopped and now I started back and it's amazing.

The gym is great becasue it

    1) gives us a lot more energy, A LOT more energy throughtout the day. Going to the gym I have unlimited energy.

    2) we grow muscle and lose fat, and we look great! That's reason enough right there.

    3) Exercising reduces stress, and reduces depression.

    4) exercising releases toxins as we sweat when we work out and our sweat releases tons of toxins.

    5) People who execcise regularly get sick less, and live longer, more productive lives.

    6) We feel good about ourselves that we have a positive discipline that we stick to and we know we are benefitting our bodies.

These are a few among many reasons that I feel everyone should go to the gym and exercise regularly. Besides getting in shape it is also a great place to meet people and have fun. I am so happy that I went back.

    Hmmm,
Then I did the once a month or so dinner with the girls tonight. I am not even GOING to tally up why I ate, and put it in this thread, because it would be humiliating. BUT, I did buy a cute new gym outfit to wear on Monday (I take weekends off...by the time friday rolls around i'm pretty sore, but it's the only way I can schedule in 5 days a week at the gym)
Lets just say it involved drinks...and appetizers...and bread...and a main course...and more drinks....AND dessert. Whoo. Scary. Plus since it was italian food, i'm not even going to mention the carb content to the atkins/south beach followers in here...y'all will have nightmares for weeks.
C'est la vie, hey, what are those workouts of mine for? I'll just have to double cardio on monday...hehe...hehehe...yikes.

Tiff, sounds like you had a good time out with the girls, I'm sure next time you won't eat as much. I know I usually don't because I feel crappy after eating all that. But you still need to enjoy your food, I keep getting told that and try telling myself that. Good luck with the gym, I just started back up about 3 weeks ago.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so don't use a scale when you're working out to measure progress. When I started dancing I gained about 5 pounds but stayed the same clothing size because I hadn't worked out or really stayed active much, I was just skinny from not being able to afford much food!

I'm going back myself this week. I'm still thin, just missing muscle tone and the endorphin rush I'd get after a good spinning class.
