Default Introduction with a side of racked nerves

So hello everyone. I'm in NY and have been lurking for a bit. I'm auditioning tonight for the first time (leaving in 1 hour!!!) I'm getting my bag together right now. I'm going to Beamers in conn. Anybody know of it?? And I'm still deciding if I want veronica to be my name, I think it's glamerous.

I like Veronica. Although I must admit, it makes me think of "Betty & Veronica"...

But that's okay, 'cause Ronnie's HOT! *giggle*

If Veronica suits you, ( I'm assuming you might be dark haired ) maybe consider Monica, or Rio. (<~~~ I only say this because Veronica, Monica, and Rio were some names my house girls threw at me to suit my "type")

My stage name is Veronica, and my friend who is blonde is planning on working at my club under the name Betty! It's corny but it'll be fun.

So first the name thing. I stuck with Veronica (yes, I'm a brunette) and my friend was going with me. Without knowing I was veronica, she chose monica for herself! Anyway..

So Beamers was REALLY nerveracking. We were excited to be there but EVERYONE was a snob! She went up for a three song set and then me. At first neither of us thought anyone was even paying attention and the bouncer guy was totally noncommital saying 'uh, the uh manager came out and said that we'll call you both on monday or tuesday.' Which was obviously rejection, because I swear that if I went back tomorrow night with a different name, the only people to recognize me would be the customers!!! Nobody (management wise) paid any attention to us. And other girls were snickering while we were on stage and whatnot.

Anyway, we called up a few clubs in Queens and got hired at citiscapes. We wanted to go audition at some other clubs but you needed gowns (gallagers and scandals) so we couldn't go there. So we'll get some experience and confidence and then go buy a gown and audition at other places. I'm really excited. From the second we walked in everybody was really nice. I only had a two piece outfit and that wasn't allowed and one of the girls lent me a dress to audition in before even knowing my name! So I start next week (monday!!!) and go from there!!

Thanks for this site everbody!!!

I've always thought only hot chicks were named Veronica, so you're in good company.

Good luck Veronica! That's too bad people were snobby at that club to you. If you want to try a gown club- there's a link to a gown (from trashy lingerie) for $18 (which is pretty cheap) in the post on the general board by GoldCoastGirl called "one slit long dresses or gowns" or you could try ebay for cheaper gowns.

Hey veronica- good luck with the club you've picked. Beamers does have a rep for girls being a bit snoby, so it probably wouldn't be a good fit for a beginner. It's also a bad time to look for work there.
1 or 2 clubs up the road in bridgeport have been shut down because of illegal activities during private dances. The result is all the dancers from those clubs are now looking for work at the other area clubs, so they have more talent than they need.

Beamers is a decent place...i've been there 2 or 3 times. I've never seen it really crowded...and it closes early(2AM).

If you can do it I would suggest stillettos or lace seems to be a lot more money there.

I just like the name...reminds me of my car.
