If Hip Hop started as DC go go,wouldnt the dj's playing it first in DC, at the biggest clubs,in the early 80's, actually be responsible for the hip hop craze??![]()

The biggest club in DC was the 5th colum in early 80's.Yours truely was the young jedi dj.<<batting eyes>>
When Dc go go started, the then small record labels would send guys into the club with free records to play.(we always liked free records)Then the bigger labels got on board and also started passing out freebies.
Soon all i was playing in Dc clubs and georgetown clubs was DC Go Go.
Soon the clubs where i was the only white guy started seeing a more diverse crowd.Everyone was swept up in go go.
Then EU Da Butt went national and the hip hop craze was on.

Will the smithsonian<sp>someday trace hip hop back to me??
Horray for GoGo. Unfortunatly, Most of the people here won't know what the hell you're talking about and they'll think go-go as in go-go dancers or go-go as in The Go-Go's. But I feel Ya!
