    Default SPORTS!

    {ALSO POSTED ON SCJ}

How important is it for ya'll that a dancer follows the latest sports?

For instance, I don't read the newspaper nor watch tv. I check out my news online and sometimes skim sports, but don't really follow football much or baseball except for basic stuff. I follow basketball a bit more...

Point is, when I do speak knowledgeably of current sports events, my customers seem impressed. Its not really that hard to read the sportspage or watch Sportcenter on occasion....

Plus, the clubs I work have all of those big plasma TVs and they always have some special events on sports nights, like Monday night football parties, etc......

So, how important is a dancers knowledge of sports during conversation?

This does not pertain to mileage or look, etc, just the above.

    Thanks for feedback!

Sports ranks pretty low on the list of things I'd like to talk about in a SC, so it really isn't something I would consider important to be knowlegable about.

I imagine it would be intriguing to a lot of people....it certainly does nothing for me...I don't follow sports, myself. But any time any woman (dancer or not) is knowledgable about something of interest to me, I am mentally trigger-tripped.

It's not a very big priority for me. Most of the girls I've spent time with are uninformed about sports and our conversations are not dimmed by it whatsoever.

Not important in the slightest bit. The last thing i'll be trying to talk about, in fact (Aside from devil worship, or something equally crazy). Hell, ask me about sports and i'll be like ???

Hell, AinNY talks about Derek Jeter. I didn't even know who the hell this guy was until i pulled a google search on him.

I, uh, like the Blues... I love Hockey, cuz they beat the crap out of each other.

I don't think its a big requirement to know sports unless you live in a major city it would help to have some knowledge of the local pro team.

I'm a big sports fan, but I'm certainly not going to a strip club to talk about it with the dancers. For all I care they could think that Mike Piazza is a tight end on the New York Rangers.

NICE! I actually know a lot about sports and have had a guy tell me he was intimidated by it! (I'm on 2 Fantasy Football Leagues), but then I've also gotten a few dances by giving Fantasy Football advice. For the most part though, I think a guy is used to talking sports with his friends and if the conversation between the guy and the dancer reminds him too much of his friends, it might be weird to get a dance from the girl.

I think it is good to be a little bit knowledgable when there is a big game in town or you're working a monday night or something. A little of "who is playing, who will probably win" type of knowledge. Don't yell "touch-down!" during a baseball game. For example, I tell lots of people, especially if they're from New England or NY about when I went up to NH and had people say "Oh, hi, so you're from New York - are you a Yankees fan?" in this accusing tone - totally if I'd said I was I wouldn't be spoken to anymore. People are quite amused by this, and by acknowledging the Rivalry I get "bonus points." I didn't have to know every play and such.

I would not talkabout sports, period. It doesn't help that we have big screens showing sports in my club. Talking about it only adds to the distraction about what they came in for.

Actually, I think Crescent and Malibu are both right. If all you have is big-screen TVs in the club showing sports, then it's more of a distraction than it's worth. On the flip-side though, if you hav a guy watching the game on one TV over the bar, that's an entirely different situation. You don't need to be a sports expert, just know the basics. Even if you don't, most likely your bartender might so ask him/her. All you need to know to sound like an expert is who is playing and who is the favorite. That's it, and that's all you'll need to know all night. When you approach your customer, all you have to do is say, "who's winning right now?" and he'll tell you. Then you can say, "Oh, that's cool...aren't they the favorites to win?" and your customer will carry the rest, but now you're in!

    just my 12 cents....

The industry caters to men.We snare a few females, lesbians, and bottlenosed dolphins in our nets on occasion, but for the most part, its burpers and ball scratchers.

    Know your prey.

Its a fairly stupid animal to hunt and most of the time its pretty predictable.Catching one is about as hard as catching a lobster in the Walmart lobster tank.
Whats the best bait to use???

    Number #1 answer!!!!
But running a close second place is sports.
Then comes food and beer(mostly red meats and fried foods) and then cars and trucks.
Load your tackle box with more then just one lure and your sure to catch fish.

An entertainer for men should know how to do more then just get him to pop a boner. That works for most of the species, but not all. With compitition so tough at some clubs, knowing a little bit about sports/red meat/cars etc could be the edge you need to win over a reg from the perfect girl next to you.

I've been reading the sports page daily recently and following baseball closely because my team is going to be in the World Series (shutup, yes the Astros are gonna do it!)

Anyhoo, I think its working because its a great conversation starter and something to talk about besides myself (hehehe). Most guys LOVE to talk about sports, even shyer guys who are hard to warm up. I think I'll keep this lil hustle going.......

    Thanks all!
