    Default How long till i see the Working Out Effects?

    Hi, I just started working out two weeks ago. (full body)

    I am naturally pretty petite but my question is how long does it take to see the effects of working out.
    like muscles showing on my abs, arms, and nothing like a body builder just a little muscle.

    I am the type that gives up really easily. (although im trying not to this time.)

    typically 3-4 weeks if you are regiment with your training and diet...

    I would direct any questions or help questions to Krys.. my girl has been gettin great results from her interval training workout... that combined with a good diet, and regular yoga training is really paying off..

    She's going to be 30 in less than a few weeks, and looks no more than 23... all from good diet, training, and lots of yoga!!

    Better living through chemistry....

    I think that you should take before pics...on the pics write the date, weight, and measurements on them. Then every few weeks, I would take another set of pics and record the same info on them. Usually when you see yourself on a daily basis, you miss the small changes...and can easily become discouraged. With the pics, you can really see the time-lapsed differences you would miss on a daily basis. When you see the small changes, it encourages you to keep working out until you start seeing the big changes.

    It took about 6 weeks for my to see any changes...and then it all just "fell into place". But, the pics helped me keep myself motivated.

    4-7 weeks is a good period of time. But it also depends if you are just working out minus the diet then it could be longer to see results.

    I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

    Or hurting themselves. I cannot stress how important FORM is in weightlifting!! If you want any results, you are not going to be using the 2.5 lb. dumbbell for bicep curls, shoulder presses, and lat/chest work. If you do not have proper form, you can really hurt yourself. Hire a personal trainer if you are not familiar with weightlifting and ask them that you need pointers on proper technique. After a few sessions, you should be ready to go on your own!!

    Body-For-Life...I highly recommend that book!!

    Are you following a good diet? If you are then you should be able to notice some results with in the 4th week. Most people start to work out and think that only working out will give them the desired results, but DIET is the KEY element specially if you are aiming for a defined torso. You should start to notice your energy levels rising already. VenusGoddess suggested taking pictures, that is an excellent idea. You may not be able to see the changes right away but if you take pictures you should be able to notice the difference there.

    I feel better the first week, see small changes after two weeks, more noticable changes after a month...

    Depends on a lot of things. What kind of exercise are you doing, how often are you doing it and what are you eating?

    If you do weight resistance and train harder but briefer about x3 a week average, you can start seeing a difference quite soon. If you lay off the junk food, you can reveal your muscles as the fat won't be hiding it. Always remember to leave a day or two between workout so your muscles have the chance to grow.

    Also keep before and after pics, like VG suggested. They're a good way to encourage you to keep on track.

    As you say you are petite already, it may not take you a long time to get visible muscle I'm sure (don't quote me on that), but to create good definition and tone, you should do lighter weights with more reps. To build mass, you normally do heavier weights with less reps (always build up gradually though, whichever one you choose to do).

    It takes about two weeks for my body to start looking tighter and more toned, but I feel better after a couple days of working out. Exercise really is habit-forming.
