    Default Viva Las Vegas!!!

So my friends and I are headed up to Vegas this weekend. I haven't been to Vegas since I was like 9 and GF has never been - so we have much to catch up on. We'll be a group of 10+ guys and gals - all mid-20 somethings. It's my guy friends b-day and we wanna show him a good time.

The plan is to start off at the Stratosphere to get our adrenaline pumping and then pour some alcohol into our bellies...but where should we go from there?

We're looking to be loud, laugh a lot, and just have a jolly good time. Before we leave Vegas we must visit a fun casino, a snazy bar, a cool strip club (we have a female friend who is getting her first lap dance), and a giant buffet.

    Ideas or recomendations?
We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise, or when we fall, or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction. Is it evolution that takes us by the hand, does Science point our way, or is it God who intervenes keeping us safe.

So much struggle for meaning, for purpose. And in the end, we find it only in each other. Our shared experience of the fantastic. And the mundane. The simple human need to find a kindred, to connect. And to know in our hearts... that we are not alone.

Was there last month and went to the "Ghost Bar" on top of the Palms. Fantastic view. Alot of dancing and drinking. A pretty young crowd. Where do they get all their money?

Went to Cheatahs and had a fantastic time. Went to Treasures the next night and it sucked.

If you take a cab to a strip club, don't pay the cabbie, they get $20 a head from the club for bringing you.

Whenever I am in Vegas I always like to go to the Rio. It is a great casino (I always win at least a few hundred bucks... but maybe I have just been lucky). Plus the Rio has several nice night clubs/bars and restaurants. It is also close to several strip clubs. The only two strip clubs I have been to in Vegas were the Spearmint Rhino and Treasures. I had fun at both. If you get a chance to catch a show I highly recommend Zumanity at the New York New York which is also a fun casino to visit. Have fun!!!!

Grr Zumanity! It looks amazing and my friend has been telling us for years how good Cirque is. We were all pumped to go till we checked the ticket prices. $69 per person for a "partially obstructed view", $95 for regular seats. :'( One of the regular tickets costs more than I'm paying for our hotel room for the whole weekend. I would have loved to go - too bad I can't convince them to extend us a student discount.

Thanks for the other suggestions. I'll look into them!

I bought the $69 dollar seats and still had a great time. If you don't mind being in the back it is not too bad. It is a really sexy show. I charged my tickets to my Visa card. I have to indulge every once in a while..hehe. It is a lot of money for the younger crowd like us but sooooo worth it.

As far as strip clubs go... I had the most fun at Olympic Garden. It's good for a mix group of guys n gals due to the male strippers upstairs. I went on a Friday night.

I caught "O" at Bellagio when I was there... damn great show and worth every penny! You must see Zumanity... the next time I find myself in Vegas.. I sooo hope that show is still going.

Stay away from Treasures as that club isn't worth it these days. There's a thread in Club Chat.

Gotta agree with Kat... definitely check out Spearmint Rhino

Also, if you're up for it, they have bungee jumping by the Circus Circus hotel. It's from the tallest man made bungee jumping platform in the US :o... a major head rush indeed

Also, I'm not sure if they allow it anymore, but if possible, get to the top of the Eifel tower at the Paris hotel sometime during the evening. From there you can have an excellent view of the fountains of Bellagio show

CHIPPENDALES!!! I was there in Feb for my wedding and I had a blast. Must see the male strippers and um, I really liked this Irish bar we went to in New York New York (that ride was great too). I think it was 4 Irishmen or some crap. Bellagio is pretty (that's where we stayed) but boring when it comes to casinos. Rain is awesome and Hard Rock of course is awesome. The Palm is always a sure thing.

I was gonna suggest the hard rock and rhino but Kat beat me to it. I hear the palms club scene is very Night at the Roxbury with all the guys in the standard striped shirt and doing the requisite headnod.

I really want to see Zumanity - damn them for entertaining me! I'm pretty sure we'll catch either OG or SR. For those who've been is it seperate admission for the male and female parts of OG or can you pay once and go to both?

We're definetly visiting the mini-Eifel, the Hard Rock, and bungee jumping sounds fun...

Thanks for all of the suggestions!!

Me too, more than should be allowed...

Spearmint Rhino is pretty damn good too, but I give the edge to OGs.

    Two cents.

Here's my 2 cents on Vegas.

The "O" show at the Bellagio but it does cost a few lap dances though.

As for SC, favs are Jaguars and SR; although, SR can get a tad crowded on weekend nights. Almost like a nightclub scene. Lot of dancers though.
Jag is never crowded but lot of ladies too.

Palms and Rio are great for the younger crowd especially Palms these days.

    Well have fun!!!

Rio rocks for my money. BEST Buffet hands down and the Voodoo lounge is awesome.

OG and CH2 are classics and everyone should check out both places.

Zumanity is THE best show Vegas has ever had BUT ..... if you can, try to see Penn and Teller. They are much cheaper and hilarious.

Check out the mini roller coaster at Circus Circus. Its a short ride but the end is a 30 foot (weightless) drop into total darkness. Best ride in town.

Casting another vote for the Hard Rock as a cool casino and Spearmint Rhino as the best SC to visit. Those are probably the two places in Vegas I least mind spending/losing my money.

GhostBar at the Palms is also a great suggestion. On the outdoor balcony there's a portion of the floor that's glass and you can see all the way down to street level. Verrry nice views of the valley too. Next time I go, I want to check out some of the more lounge-y places, like V Bar at the Venetian, Light at Bellagio, or Tabu at the MGM Grand.

As far as buffets, I've never gone wrong at the Las Vegas Hilton (it's off the strip but reasonably priced); I also ate at the Palms buffet for the first time last summer, and it has probably the widest selection of anyplace I've been in Vegas.

baby's is no longer at the hard rock, it is called body english. it is a lot better. light at bellagio is fun too. sapphire is a good strip club to fit lots of people. bellagio has the best breakfast buffet. rio has the best buffet, lots of seafood and mgm has a good one too. tabu and carmel (sp?) are fun ultra lounges. the palms is overrated bc of real world. it is fun, but people wait in line for 3 hours to get into rain or ghostbar
