Default question about obligations to customers

Last time I worked, I got a lot of attention from a club regular who has never talked to me before. He started tipping me on stage, the asked me to come join him at his table. He only got one dance from me, but we sat and talked for a little while, then I left. (It was the end of my shift.) He asked what days I would be working, and maybe me promise to come back Friday (today.)
Today, I have a lot to do -- errands, stuff for my other job, classes -- and don't feel like going in. I don't have a set schedule, so it's up to me whether I work or not. Do I HAVE to go in? What do you think the consequences are if I don't?

I should add that Friday afternoons suck at this club in general, so if HE doesn't show up, I'm probably wasting my time. Once you're there, you're not allowed to leave until the end of the shift.

Odds are he'll be back if hes a regular and you can tell him something came up. Appologise and be nice and odds are no harm no foul.

why do you have an obligation? It isn't like you made a time to meet with him. Plus if he isn't your regular and has come to see you numerous times then it really isn't an obligation.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Do what you want. You might not get anymore dances from him but I suspect that's no big deal, especially since he's never bought from you before and only bought one this time.
