works for some not for others...
I did a few threads awhile ago have a look under
'acne success stories' and 'for those using proactive,
Your chin area is related to hormones....have you changed BC pills lately or anything?
Yeah, I have bad acne on my chin and it's because of hormones. I just got some birth control pills this week so I hope that helps me. Proactive won't help you if it's hormonal-related; it didn't do a thing for me. It only works if you have acne because of excess oil. Good luck, though!

I did not know that breaking out on your chin is related to your hormones. I have not changed BC. The only thing that is different, about a week ago I had my lips injected with cosmoplasma.Originally Posted by MissTaylor link=board=5;threadid=14103;start=msg186258#msg186 258 date=1096752259
I have tried Pro-Active in the past and it did nothing for my skin. But then again I don't think I gave it enough time to work. I just bought a 3 step program from CVS (a pro-active knock off) called Clear Zone. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it seems to be working. I promised myself to use it until it is completely gone. So that I can be fair and state that it did or did not work for me.

Pro-Activ, for me, DDS (Didn't Do Shit). But it was the magic bullet for my roommate. Go figure. Lately I've been breaking out very badly on my chin, which is where I always break out when I'm under a lot of stress. I just began a Clearlight regimen. I will post a review when it's done.
Oh, yes, I want to hear about the light therapy!!!
Pro-Active is just fancied-up benxoyl peroxide therapy...use Clearasil instead. The trick is to use it on your entire affected area, not just on the pimples. It prevents, it doesn't treat. But it does sound like hormonal acne- stress can aggrevate hormonal acne- is this a possibility?

yes yes! definately post a clearlight review when you're done, Adina!
Also were you are vunerable to getting pimples already, you probably will get them there again. Best solution for me when i was getting pimples around my hairline and nose was Salicylic Acid products the stronger the better hands down!

Get your hormone levels checked. Zits are basically a sign that hormones are out of balance (which is why so many women get them during their periods).
^ Very true, while i agree, monthy periods are a fact of life for most of us ladies, and we can't stop our hormones from causing a flare-up. Also acne is different, it's always there, and flares up worse around period time. I would do as VG says, but start the acid products as well. Areas that are prone to pimples are the "weaker" areas, and see more break-outs too.
Good luck,
Pamela
Salicylic Acid rocks
