^ Yeah, he hasn't been the same since his divorce.
Flu shots are a gimmick!

Yeah, I never got into Howard either. He's just a bit too retarded for me.
It's 42 degrees here BDD![]()
And they're short on Flu shots already? Crap. Hopefully they'll have them at the baby's next appointment. I remember the hell we went through last year to get her one. They actually had to put one aside for her appointment (which was a month in advance). Blah.
i think that since they know about the shortage, they're reserving them for children, elderly, and others who really need them, so you should be okOriginally Posted by Rhiannon link=board=1;threadid=14236;start=msg188137#msg188 137 date=1097033213
they need to find a new company to manufacture the shots or something...i missed that info. since typing on SW
The Brits closed down the Chiron manufacturing plant because of quality control problems.they need to find a new company to manufacture the shots or something...i missed that info
That's where the shortage is coming from...

We'll see when her appointment comes up. If this season is going to be as bad as last season, people will be donating their kidneys in order to get their children shots. It was madness last year.
We were lucky to get one set aside for us, because at the time of her appointment, there wouldn't have been one left for her. She never did get the booster that she needed 2 weeks after the first shot.
I don't know.. I have hopes that this season will be okay.
Heh.. <curtsy> That was my first split-topic! Yay!
I just didn't want to jack the Stern thread.. So we can discuss Flu Shots here..
:
flu shots are a joke, so is stern and its 73 right now hahahahahaha
It is warm and toasty out, there was supposed to be a cold front........I feel betrayed by Ed Brandon, my local crackhead weather man.
I heard somewhere that having the flu during the first and second trimester increases the chances of schizophrenia, and something about flu shots..............I have yet to really feel the extreme need to get one. I think people who really really really really need them should get them, everyone growing up got sick, now it's going to kill everyone or something?

You mean I have to fight babies again for a flu shot!![]()
"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

This is englands plan to get rid of us. Guess those brit's are a bit smarter than we thought. What wankers.Keeping all the flu shot's to themselves

flue shots are STILL a joke and it was 104 today!hahahahaha
There are some 60 million doses available and the possibility that can be stretched some, but the stretched ones would only be available later.

Except for the young and old and chronically ill, the flu is just a pain in the butt for 4-6 days. Under normal circumstances it is a ggod idea for dancers to get flu shots because of the sheer number of people they come in contact with, since that influeces the odds you get the flu and pass it on to others before you know you have it.
I know this may sound like something which belongs in dollar den rather than here, but all dancers should make sure that they have sufficient financial reserves to go a week without working and not get into a squeeze to pay rent etc. It is a good idea to be prepared for a lot more than a week, but spread the word to other dancers at your clubs that the risks of this are likely to be much higher than normal this year. Especially since right when the holiday bills hit is prime time for flu, and often a bad time for dancer income.
Why would anyone want to waste money on a flu shot?!? It's been around for ages...
Just :suck: it up and deal with the flu...![]()

That's true. When the flu bug gets ya,it gets ya.You just have to let it run its course.

I think that adults should be able to just deal with the flu if and when they get it. They really don't need the shot. But, every year, they all flock to get them. That's what causes the shortages, so that the elderly and young children are denied them because they're all out. Those two groups are who the shot is recommended for.
I had to go for a drug test yesterday for a job offer I received, and lo and behold, they have a big sign on the door saying that they do not have the vaccine, and are not sure that they'll get it at all. I guess it's already started. Gah.. Paranoia.
My youngest will get the vaccine this year, and maybe next year as well. Her doctor has recommended for her to get it until she's at least 3.
What people don't understand is that the vaccine (whichever is the latest out there at the time) doesn't protect them against EVERY strain of the Flu, and everytime someone gets the Flu, it mutates from person to person, creating more and more strains. So, no matter if you get the shot or not, you could still end up with the Flu. The reason it's recommended for small children and the elderly is that they will build up an immunity to the Flu itself, and it will hopefully make it harder for them to get sick.
I just got Makayla the vaccine for Whooping Cough. We have a break-out here in the suburbs...and her doctor strongly advised we get it for her. I took his advice simply because he respects our decision not to get her vaccinated...and he was still advising to get this shot.
Makayla is the healthies baby I know. This is the first and only shot she's ever gotten. Guess the 2 years of breastfeeding did it's job. She nursed when I had the flu...food poisoning...strep throat...never got sick one time.
I just don't trust much of the vaccines/shots out there. There is just something about it that makes me extremely nervous.
I think I just caught the flu yesterday...It sux. I get the flu/cold every year and like Venus said I just deal with it.Personally I think the flu shots only for little kids and old people.
I had my tonsils out when I was 14 and Ive never gotten strep since but thats alot different than a flu shot of course.
