    Default On second thought...

From Chuck: Just to help everyone understand, After some less than flattering remarks were posted, here is the quote from Naomi taken from the “What if your Fav Started Doing Hard Drugs” thread that precipitated this particular thread:
"Lurk and Money, sorry to offend, since this blue site is for the guys than I'll take your subtle hint and post only on the pink."
I'm not, nor ever have been, the sort of girl who runs in the face of conflict, I was just caught off guard. I'm not accustomed to having a man insult me or my intelligence, must be spoiled that way.

I really enjoy the threads on stripclubjunkie, so I take back what I'd posted and I'm gonna continue commenting here.

If anybody should have a problem with what I add than they can suck it!

You are not the first or the last dancer to have been spoiled in that fashion. When you regularly receive boatloads of money just to hop up and down on people for a few minutes, you tend to lose some perspective on things.

Don't say the first like it's a bad thing! My last ATF could do both! I didn't know whether to

    [frustrated]

    or to

    [shocked]

    OK, I did both!

I've had an ongoing theory that many beautiful women are like that. I think it might make for a lot of really unhappy older women, who suddenly find themselves 45 and stripped of their power (like Superman surrounded by kryptonite, LOL). They must think that the whole world got very mean, when really they're just finally being treated normally.

I wonder if that's better or worse than having been treated poorly one's whole life?

I wasn't referring to any compliments I received in a strip club.

First, my intelligence has little to do with my outward appearance. Should I get old and loose my youth appeal than it would surely be replaced with wisdom and grace, which many find far more appealing.

I'm not worried about it, I have an uncanny likeness with my grandmother when she was my age, she was a model and when I show people her pictures the typical response I get is "where'd you go to get these old fashioned pictures taken...they look so real."
Anyway she was beautiful until the day she died at 77. She was also wise and I find that to be what makes a woman truly beautiful.

It doesn't have anything to do with compliments. Just the whole idea that you can be paid a lot of money for doing hardly anything can make you feel more important than you actually are. Then you find yourself in an arena such as this one where people aren't just using you as their personal sex toy and you find there is a whole different protocol in effect.

Step away from the keyboard and really ponder the following before you respond. Do you really believe that I, or the other dancers who post here, are the sort of naive dumb-asses who feel our worth is measured by the money we receive while dancing in a strip club?

Sorry ML, but this makes you sound very bitter what you perceive to be their attitudes. Its also a huge generalization, which never holds up under scrutiny.

Most definitely, but its not just about the money. I'm not saying you measure your entire self worth on it. I have seen several posts on stripperweb though about women feeling empowered by being strippers, that it can give them a feeling of power over men, make them feel good about their sexuality, etc. And yes, I think many strippers have a warped view of money and derive a measure of their self-worth from the money they earn from their dancing. I'm not sure if that applies as much to the dancers that post here, who are probably slightly more intellectually inclined than the average stripper, which when you think about it is not exactly saying a whole lot.

It is a generalization but not a huge one, and it comes from experience. My bitterness does nothing to alter the veracity of my arguments, it just motivates me to post my views.

I agree with one of your observations, I too roll my eyes when I read or hear a dancer going on about the empowerment of being a stripper.

Am I alone here? Am I really dense? I'm a bit confused. I just logged on and saw this thread.
What's the purpose here (i.e., of this post)? What is the antecedent or catalyst that precipitated this post? Please, please, eschew some obfuscation!

I get the sense that I (as one of many mere spokes on a wheel) don't know what the "hub" is here...

Was the purpose of this post to collect "cheers"? ...Self-aggrandizement? ...or what?

    Please enlighten me.

Self-aggrandizement? That's quite insulting coming from one who candidly acknowledges not knowing what preceeded this.

Quite simply this assumption (self-aggrandizement) is ignorant. May I suggest reading the past threads, as you're not able to reads my PMs, and enlighten yourself, I haven't the patience to annotate.

This response confirms my point. (Ohhhh....I'm very sorry for trampling on a fragile ego!)

And in case my previous message was not understood, my question simply is: what indeed is the antecedent of the indefinite article "this" (as emphasized in the above quote)?

    Please, pop the cork.

Your apology is both indecorous and irrelevant. Rest assured BoneDaddy, my ego is impervious.

I sense your devotion to drag out a frivolous debate; I won't be your opponent, as your asinine comments are boring me. Next time I suggest you make an attempt at creativity and validity when instigating a debate with me.
