Default Are your favorite clubs hassled by local govt?

Where I am, in the middle of nowhere CA, there is only one strip club. Fully nude juice bar sort of establishment that had the nerve to situate itself in the middle of town rather than near the airport or some other industrialized part of the city.

The owners were given much grief, but there were no ordinances on the books stating location, although there was a provision that an "adult oriented business" couldn't be within 500 feet of a church or school.

The club's building happened to be <500 feet from the edge of a church property line, but greater than 500 feet from the middle of the property. Much ranting and raving ensued, but the club ultimately won out since there was no established definition of how the distance was being defined. Of course, now there is ...

Just curious, are any other clubs nit picked and harassed by the hypocrites and Quakers?

The wife of a councilman in the city of my favorite club went in with her husband on night to see what was to be seen. They were highly disturbed when they saw the girls eating each other out on-stage, and watching others get fucked by strap-ons. A well-lubed strap-on since the girl getting it had done a nice job on it with her mouth while the other girl ate her out. As I recall, a butt plug was used too.

Anyway, she told her hubby to have that sort of activity banned, and to bring it up before the council. As it turned out, her hubby was a regular customer in the place and good friends with the owner. In the end (pun intended), the council said it supported the clubs activities as freedom of expression, and said that if people were going to be offended by such behavior they shouldn't go in the club. I know it's a lot tighter in some spots (another pun but it just slipped out slipped out- geez, there's another one!!), but it would be a lot better if city councils and law enforement groups would pay attention to things that make a difference for their citizens, like crime and lack of child support.

It's been months since the last police raid in clubs here in PR. Law enforcement will usually do a raid, then allow the club to continue operations without any corrective measures. It's done mostly for statistical purposes, there's no real interest in cracking down on clubs doing "extracurriculars". Permits may be revoked if illegal activites go on in clubs, but I've only read about one club operating without permits being managed ironically by a cop, who has since been suspended from the force.
