Unfortunately that is a standard for alot of waitresses. they seem to think they should be getting a cut of everything, just like that damn clubs and managers. What's worse is those same waitresses will 'force' dancers to help them get the 'tips' they want (they want us to tell customers to tip certain amounts) by sending only dancers who comply to good tables, and sometimes even by taking dancers who don't go along away and replacing them with those who do. It amounts to extortion and some waitresses are more unscrupulous in this regard than managers! They see dancers making money and get the idea in their heads that they should make the same or more even though they can't / aren't willing to take their clothes off. Some waitresses do take home more than some dancers because of this extortion. Of course you should tip the waitress according to the bar tab and add a little for the tab and extra trips she may have made to bring you funny money, but a % of the entire dance tab is excessive in any case! The waitresses where I work are happy to get a $20 tip on a $400 VIP tab because part of it is funny money and they also get a commission on that tab from the bar, plus they don't have to make many trips to take care of the table.
ML don't worry about that waitress. Go to whatever club you want. A good way to solve that problem is to get cash instead of running a tab. If the club has an ATM, use it - it will cost you less in surcharges anyway. Some clubs don't advertise the fact that they have ATMs because they prefer you use their funny money so they can bilk you even more. Ask ask ask. Many dancers will tell you about it when a waitress or manager will not because the dancers want to keep dancing and prefer cash anyway. I worked at Aggieed's second home for months before I knew they had an ATM system at the bar where customers could withdraw cash - management didn't want girls telling guys about that. When I was hired there I was told they didn't have an ATM when actually they did. That is common in many clubs. Also, most club ATMs have like a $100 withdrawal limit and charge $7-$8 per withdrawal, but what many customers don't realize is if they want more cash than that they can do more than one transaction. The club ATMs may be more expensive than regular ATMs, but it's still cheaper than 10-25% plus dealing with a waitress who expects a 15-20% on top! It's always best to hit the ATM before entering the club, but you can't always plan that, so the ATM at the club is your next best choice. Avoid using funny money if you can!
