Ha. No, seriously, made my first trip to a club tonight (trip report will be up soon, natch...). As I was getting ready to leave the house and drive over, I kept doing something or other and thinking that the only reason I was doing it was that I read about it here. More of the same in the club itself, and then Mandi/Amber said something similar about when she started dancing (yes, I was smart enough to choose K2U and SCJ's very own Amber in particular). So, in no particular order, the things I learned here:
Leave the baseball cap at home - it just gets in the way.
Don't wear a belt (NEVER would have thought of this, but it does make sense, and I don't want to put a dancer in the position of having to ask me to remove it - talk about a situation fraught with potential for misunderstanding).
Wear soft pants, not jeans - be nice to your dancer's skin, please.
Shave closely - for the same reason as above - for those with serious five o'clock shadow like me, that means shaving against the grain. Yeah, it hurts, but smooth skin rubbed against smooth skin is SUCH a nice feeling, and smooth skin rubbed against razor stubble would be, well, not nearly as nice and short-lived at best.
Be a gentleman during the private dances, and you'll get a better dance for your restraint. This was a little trickier than I thought it would be, so I'm a *tiny* bit proud of myself for not turning into a grabby jerk, especially when Amber did that trick where she's ALMOST kissing you. *shiver* Don't get me wrong - my hands wandered, but within the borders of the expected in that club. And what would be acceptable in that club is another thing I learned here.
If you're interested in a private dance from someone, tip a little more than normal at the stage to let her know you're impressed. I'm not sure I would have known that I needed to make the connection during the stage dance. For some reason, I had the impression the dancers would 'hustle' everyone for private dances. At K2U at least, this is definitely not the case. This tip saved me from a boring evening, I'm sure, 'cause the gods all know Amber's got WAY too much business to need to hustle.
I think that's about it. This is just by way of an extended thank you to the regulars here. Even those of us who don't post are getting a lot out of this site.
