Default What do you like being called by dancers?

If a dancer calls me "sweetie" or "honey" I don't buy dances from her. Same as if she lights up. She has to say my NAME.

I like "hey you" and "hey mister" sometimes. I even like "a**hole" in a loving context.

I wouldn't like being called "f*cking stupid" at all. I don't think I could get it up after that. :o

I like hearing a pretty dancer yell "SPORTSWRITER" across the room, jumping up and waving with her friends.

Mostly I just like a silent jump-up GF kiss when I walk in.

i like being called "bigger than mark". lol, although, that only happens in my dreams.

i dont really care what anyone calls me. they could call me by name, or "sweety" or "cum guzzling faggot", its all the same to me.

She has to call me by my name. That proves that she has made some kind of an effort to remember it. Remember, they see many different people through the course of the night, so to remember a name, means something.

Yoda and Dude are the only two things I won't answer to in a strip club. Though, If it's delivered with a South American accent, a girl can call me just about anything she wants...

The dancers that know me call me by my first name. If they want to substitute "sweetie", "baby" or "handsome" (Miss J's personal favorite) thats OK too. Miss D calls me "dahlin" all the time which I have to admit gives me a touch of wood If she kisses me when saying it I go from balsa to hickory in a flash

ATF says "Where have you been you bastard"
    I reply "Shut up bitch"
then we hug, kiss, and head up to the VIP area.

Anyone else has to remember the name (at least on the second visit).

Having my name remembered would be nice, but I just don't show up often enough at the same club to expect that.

As long as they recognize my face (particularly after not seeing me for 3+ months), a "hey you, how have you been" will work just fine.

Thank you guys for addressing this, I had never thought about it and I am guilty of your typical "Baby, honey" or "sweetie". I will definitely make more of an effort. Thanks guys!

    I do that too

Not because I don't remember names ( ok well sometimes) but more often as a sign of affection.

Should I use "handsome" instead or just plain skip it ?

Isis, calling someone "handsome" will not get you anywhere unless the guy is a total moron! He will see right through it! One time there was this dancer, I would always talk to her, but I never gave her my name. One day, she actually came up to me, and called me by my name. Now THAT was impressive, as she obviously went out of her way to ask someone what my name was. And the best part of her, she never wanted to do dances! She was just a lush, and wanted to drink all night! Anyhow, obviously if you have never seen a particular customer before, you will not know his name. But after that initial meeting, you really should remember names. It will get you alot farther along! That is my fatherly advice for the day!

When I am bartending, everyone is baby, sweetie, or sugar!!! (sugar stolen from my best freind, and used with the good ole southern drawl)
I am very very bad with names (gotta quit smokin that shit one day) and I'll tell ya that flat out, and ask your name as many times as I need too, to finally remember it.....
I call every one the baby and sweetie, it is just the way I am, and have certain customers that if I don't use one of those they are wondering what is wrong with me !!!!

I do a great Elvis "hey baby" and have customers who expect it.......Bartending I can pull it off, dancing I really don't use them very much !!!

I can never remember names the first time I hear them, ever. I should probably take my own advice as to use them in the initial conversation a few times. Or Gynger's writing down of customers names and things about them. I'll remember faces and possibly a few details - "did your operation / visit with family / conference go okay?" but names, ugh, I'm awful.

I don't mind being called "sweetie" or "honey." Rare has been the dancer who remembered my name after being told it just ONCE. If I got offended every time a dancer forgot my name, I would have missed out on most of the greatest lapdances I've ever had.

I do believe it's better to ask a customer his name again than to go on for months and months calling him "sweetie." One technique that I believe has been used on me is a fave asking some non-fave to approach me and make some conversation with me. The non-fave gets my name during the course of the conversation and then relays it back to the fave. And so now the fave can start calling me by name! That's cool.

There was this one dancer I spent a lot of money on who sometimes misremembered more than my name. She used to get me mixed up with other customers. Sometimes she'd refer to some fact about me that was totally off the mark or she'd mention some previous incident between us that never happened. Must have been stuff involving another customer or customers. I would be somewhat taken aback when this happened. But in fact the dancer was dropdead gorgeous, had a natural sweetness about her, and her dances were absolutely smokin' hot. So none of her memory lapses caused me to break my stride in spending money on her.

I don't really have a problem with a dancer forgeting my name on the second or even third visit. Honestly, I think it shows a touch of class for the woman to simply say "I'm sorry, I don't remember your name from the last time I'm *****, it's nice to see you again. You of course would respond with your name at this point....

My first ATF forgot my name, she got around it by bringing over other dancers and having them introduce themselves to me so I wold say my name. I figured it out, but I gave her big style points for originality.

i don't go that far. it's not a crime to forget someone's name. i do it all the time. however, i find it far easier to just ask, rather than attempt to maintain a facade of remembrance for the sake of being polite. after awhile, it becomes transparent that the other party doesn't remember your name. in the end, i prefer nothing at all, when compared to an insincere term of endearment.

Remembering names is a great skill to have. Back in the day when I was working in sales I struggled with it. After calling on a customer, Id go back to the car and write down his/her name and something unique about the individual, trying to come up with some associative thing to help me remember. It worked most of the time.

With the dozens and dozens of customers a stripper sees each evening, I can sympathize with the difficulty. Thats why when a dancer remembers my name after a brief conversation or a few LD's, Im impressed. Same thing with barmaids and waitresses. Yesterday, I went to my other "south of town" club. The barmaid greeted me and immediately cracked open a bud lite for me, remebering my favorite adult beverage I had only been there one time before so I thought that was good.

    Kat's tricks for remembering names:

    1. Associate their first name with a famous name. For instance, if they are Mick-think Mick Jagger. Sometimes I will tell them my trick for a laugh. One guy was a Bobby. I said, ok, you're Bobby Brown-he wanted it changed, great for laughs and conversation starters.

Some uptight pricks might not enjoy it so I keep it to myself. Its given me at least a 50-60% improvement in remembering.

    2. This is obvious: Get a business card from them and reference it when you go into your purse to get gum or a smoke (sorry Sporty!)

    3. This one is weird but it works, especially if you forget names initially. Say to him: "what's my name!!" (Adding "bitch" to the end of that is optional, hahaha )

They usually have forgotten it and give me a dumb stare. Then I say, "well, what's your name, or have you forgotten too?" Then they tell me their's and I tell them mine.

It sounds weird but it works.

Or I just ask them again...what do you boys think? Should I post this to the pink site too???

I don't really care what I'm called as long as my face is recognized, I'm not real good with names myself so I'm not going to hold that against anyone. That being said I am impressed by those girls who do remember my name. I recall being at a club one evening and spending some time with one dancer, I then didn't see her again until maybe three months later and she remembered my name, I was very impressed and it did earn her repeat business. Conversely, I have had girls who I have done business with on a number of occassions who everytime I see them will introduce themselves and ask me my name, WTF, the fact that they didn't remember my name didn't bother me, but the fact that they didn't even remember my face did, they usually lose repeat business very fast.

Ok question- this week I had a guy come in who has been in maybe 3 times in the last 2 months (that I know of) and dances w/ me as well as other dancers. He buys maybe 2 or 3 dances. I don't remember his name so when he came in this week I thought I'd take the advice on the "honey" thing.

I made a joke about being flighty and asked him for his name again and he got mad at me

When is too late to ask ? In this kind of situation should I stick w/ the pet name game ???

I think at this point you should stick with the pet name thing. I have a couple of "once in a while" girls that I've known for years. They never remember my name and, for the amount of time and money I spend on them, I wouldn't expect them to. Just the same, I wouldn't get mad if they asked again.

The first ATF one time when I came in had a big smile and came over and said "Hi KEN (not my name)" I just stared at her with a blank look. She felt so bad (then tried to say I had twin). After that she has never forgotten. Five plus years later, I am glad I gave her another chance...(and I am sure she is too).

I totally have to agree with this. In my club, we are scheduled 4 to 5 hour shifts. I start work on any given day from 4PM to 10PM. I don't see the same people every time I am at work. Sometimes I don't see a patron for a month.

However, I have an excellent memory. I always try to address people by their name. If I can't remember the name, I ask for the first letter and 95% of the time, I get the name!

Our "English as a second language" patrons are particularly impressed and complimented by this simple effort. I have had management tell me I get nice comments and make people feel good.

Shoot! I thought that was part of the job

    Cheers,

It's nice if a dancer remembers my name but I can't say the honey or sweetie thing bothers me either. I don't even think I notice most of the time.

I understand how many customers these ladies see in a weeks time and I think it's unrealistic to expect them to remember every customers name. As long as the dancer is polite and friendly during my return visits, well that's all I need.
