"In all the places I know of, you MUST have a license to dance."

There are a lot of states you do not need a license to dance......

I understand that she may have had a problem with management if they would have found out...but it sounds like she "knows" people there and it was an impulse thing....

Good for you girl!!!! that is what capitalism is all about.....some guy had the hots for ya, u had clothes on so there was some mystery there, unlike the strippers,a nd u went for it.........Congrats.....sounds just like some sour grapes by the girls.....I talked with some of my "friends" that strip and make tons of cash and they were like, "no big deal"......

Now where do u plan on stripping? I wanna come see you...lol

I got booted from the Yellow Rose a few months beack because my drunk friend who is too "shy" to be a stripper was drunk and decided to jump all over me and start giving me lapdances and making out with me. There were not many girls that night and we could not find a dancer there....

Luckily we were sitting in the corner where not many dancers/customers saw us because I was totally embaressed, then the GM kicked us out. I went back there recently and all is cool, but if I saw a girl flagrently doing it at my home club I would tell management to kick her out ASAP too. I deserved it because I didn't stop the situation. So its no big deal sweets, now you know!

See, unfortunately, this could've been worked to the dancer advantage - "How about I show your wife/girlfriend how to give a good lap dance?" So you sell a couples lapdance, or get them into a champagne room or something, where it doesn't matter who is dancing or not, dancer still gets paid. Easier done at a place where you pay someone else upfront, then just say "okay, let's pay for another song, but this time you dance for me!" Type of thing. I remember awhile ago a guy and a few friends had reserved a half hour for themselves in the VIP, so one of guys [a tad tipsy] was like "I wanna give you a dance!" so the other girl was like "Okay!" it didn't matter, she was still getting paid for the time. Whee.

Speaking as a non-dancer, I think you have a very understanding husband.......
Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, dance like no-one's watching..........and never cry over something that can't cry over you

this is not allowed at all in the clubs I have worked at. It does sound like a one time thing and she didn't know any better. What really pisses me off was a former dancer coming into the club and totally working the crowd, And of all nights one that really was Slow. She sat all night with a big tipping customer and gave him free attetion and didnt exactly dance but worked the room like she was.

Looking at it from both sides here:

Dancer Perspective: I would've been pissed. I agree with the H & R Block comparison. If it was A quickie, and there were no other dancers around, that might have flown once. You seem to have seen the err of your ways. I'm sure all is forgiven.

Customer Perspective: I go there specifically to see and buy from the dancers. I could probably go to any local nightclub and get a mediocre (not to say your dance was mediocre at ALL, just making a point) dance for free, or for the cost of a drink. I go for the fantasy the dancers provide. There's something about their sex appeal (clothing, shoes, make-up, and persona) that a "civilian" cannot provide that makes me melt, and promptly empty the contents of my wallet.
