    Closed Curtains

Ok, so I was thinking last night about this... I was wondering if anyone else were like this or had similar security habits. At night, I have to have my curtains/blinds closed all the way. Not even a crack can be open. I don't like the feeling of a peeping tom I guess. During the day, it's fine. When I go to bed at night, my bedroom door has to be closed and locked. When I am in the shower, I leave the curtain half open.....Talk about paranoid....When I think back though, I have done this since I was a little girl...Anyone else?

If I'm out, my wife locks up everything, including the bedroom door. When I'm there, it's all fair game (except for the living room blinds). I guess she thinks I'll protect her if there are any problems, which is a nice feeling. I just hope there is never an opportunity for us to discover if I will fight or end up screaming like a 10 year old girl.

I pretty much keep my blinds closed day and night (never there in the day anyhow and I figure I don't need to pay to air condition the sun.) Double lock the front door. There are a couple of other things I do too that let me know if someone has been in there or not.

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same with curtains! Also I only ever wear shoes - boots usually that I can run fast in and kick well in when I go out. I have so many great shoes and sandles that have hardly been worn, its ridiculous!

I am the same way..well the curtains in my room is always closed day/night and I to sometimes leave the shower curtain half opened and I so cannot take a shower when my back is facing the bathroom door..My bedroom door always has to be shut and locked when I am in here and my blanket and body pillow has to cover my body including my face or else I wont be able to sleep lol I feel like someone is watching me or something. and when I was younger I used to not be able to sleep if my back was facing the door I'd always have to have my back facing the wall in order for me to sleep..but I got over that last part. lol

I keep my curtains open in common areas during daylight hours, but as soon as night falls all curtains close. I've got a very warm burgundy and red theme in the b/r, with a rose colored hanging paper lantern. Even my Betta is a deep red, and the rocks in his bowl are burgundy. So the drapes stay closed to keep the setting serene and broken off from the rest of the world. But as for security... Not too concerned I suppose. Should anyone bust in while I or my SO are home, they're in for a big shock. I taught her to shoot and picked up a nice little pearl-handled .22. I keep a Glock 9mm for myself, and I don't miss.

My 2-1/2 yr old is a little exhibitionist. He'll take off his clothes and undies, running around shouting "nakey baby!" I guess it's genetic, 'cuz I do it, too. At times like this, the curtains get closed, 'cuz who wants the neighbors staring at their nizzos?

A woman after my own heart. Just don't forget, "Squeeze it, don't yankl it". Um... wait... my mind just wandered... (this is my weapon, this is my gun, one is for pleasure, one is for fun)

I keep my bedroom blinds/curtains drawn at night myself..I need utter darkness to fall asleep, the slightest amount of light and I'm up.
I also need silence to sleep, one sound that I know doesn't belong and I'm up ready to kill.
I don't own any guns, but there's ALWAYS some kind of edged weapon handy and roomie has a pump shotgun with some kinda hollowpoint lead slugs,I won't miss if I gotta shoot ya!

Your security practices are actually very correct. If you read about the psychology of criminals, many crimes are crimes of opportunity- some thieves or rapists are not too bright and just look for openings to take something or assault someone just because they happened on an easy target. (A good book on this topic is "Obsession" (1998 ) by John Douglas, a noted FBI profiler.

Well,I live in southern California where there is a lot of crimes against women,so I always keep the blinds and curtains closed at night.I keep the windows locked too. There are a lot of home intrusions here.Don't know why.

I usually lock the door. I usually shut the blinds, but open the blinds again and the window for fresh air after the light's out. Second-story bedroom. Lady Z and I joke that if someone is angling that hard for a view, they deserve it. Security's not really a concern in the neighborhood, but the motion-detector outside lights and the territorial dog inside makes it all good anyway. No weapons, other than dog teeth.

I don't really have to worry about it. I live in the country. The closest neighbor is about a mile away.
