    Teaching Pole Tricks

So, I have been thinking that once I retire from the club that I may start teaching pole tricks in my home... I will have a pole anyway for fitness and thought it might be a good idea. Has anyone else done this? I have girls asking me to teach them all the time.

In Aus 2 of the clubs do this... they run courses for the girls (dancers) and also just for ladies wanting to learn that don't dance.

I think it would be a good idea, there is always a newbie wanting to learn how to climb a pole!

Yes Vaden i have had friends come over who would want to play on the pole i have. It has been up for a very long time and is kinda wobbly at this time, but even before that, poeple would jump on and start "trying" to do crazy spins, etc.

My only worry is if someone got seriously hurt and sued. Look into this first.

Or you can just have the girls sign a waiver?

Having them sign a waiver does not prevent them from suing you.

I would have an attorney write up a waiver/contract for you to hand each person and have them sign. It's just something else that will help you in the long run...

    Good luck!!

Me too! Sounds great! Definately get an official liability contract! If its successful, you could even buy a small fitness studio, attach multiple poles, and do group classes! How fun! Good luck

Thats something I was wanting to start up here in NZ, because I don't think there is anything like that here. I was set back a bit when I got pregnant, but theres always afterwards. I wouldnt know where to get poles from in NZ though, the industry isn't that big here.
I say go for it Vaden! good luck!

Here in CA I go to a place called Fun Fit Studio that teaches pole dancing and pole tricks. The owner is really nice and says she loves what she does. If you want to get ideas for pricing the web site is www.funfitstudio.com. I wish it wasn't so far from me because I would go everyday if I could. It is the best work out and a great way to learn new tricks to use at work. I say go for it!

    Wow!! That's nothing!!
I pay $20 for a 25 minute session for my drum lessons. And I'd MUCH rather take pole lessons.
    That'd be so cool!!

If you're teaching a group, I think $25/hour is reasonable...if it's one on one, definitely charge more, I'd say $60+/hr.

I was just saying last night to a friend that it would be cool to learn to do some of that cool stuff on a pole that I'd recently seen on tv. It totally amazed me! I don't even know if it'd be possible for me to do much of it cuz I'm not that flexible and can be clumsy. I guess it'd be fun to try and learn though!

Sorry Page i just saw you're message. Yes i have had a pole for years in my house, brass. IT neds to either be tightened up (which my roomie says would be very easy) or i will probably sell it.

You are not far from me, a few minutes..Lol.

Anytime you want to come over and give it a shot you're welcome! As i still use it, it wont fall, just a wobble as i have seen in many clubs anyay. I do some funky tricks myself on the pole. I danced on the pole at Pure Platinum, learned how to spin around on top, hang and lots others!

Feel free to pm me if you want to check it out, do some moves. PS i love showing off on it (shhh)

I would have taken a class in pole dancing had they been available when I started working in clubs.

    I think it's a great idea !
