Default Hi everybody! Excited newbie here!!! With a question.

So I've poked around here for weeks and went to audition and got hired at lace in west nyack last week. I've only worked one night, but I think I did well. I don't really know what I should be basing 'well' on. I mean compared to making a hundred or two bartending I did extremely well, great even. But I still want to believe that strippers are pulling in 1 to 2 grand a night. I certainly didn't touch a grand and kinda thought that's what you make. I suppose it depends on the club too. But this is rich new york suburb. Anybody have opinions?
Anyway, I had a great time and will continue to dance. I'm thinking of trying some clubs in NYC because I only have car access one night a week. I'd like to work two or three.
It's great to finally post and become an actual member here!

I've never been to NYC so I have no idea what dancers make there and I doubt a dancer in NYC is going to post her earnings here for all to see. One night's earnings don't really tell you anything about the long-term potential of a club. Plus, some guys like to get a dance or two from the shy, nervous, newbie, so your earning may actually go down over time. One common mistake I learned on here is that when evaluating a club, girls tend to think just about thier best night there, and not their average earnings there. (My apologies for not giving proper credit to whoever shared this wisdom).

You said compared to bartending you did extremely well. Be happy about that and don't worry about comparing yourself to what may very well be unrealistic expectations. Try out a few more clubs, give yourself a little time to get the hustling down, then decide for yourself if its right for you.

    I agree.
In my opinion days of 1000-2000 a night are long gone, but there is still money to be made.

I agree with all, I used to make 800 to 1000 a night, but that was when I was making more than anyone else, country town and I was a city girl.... But that doesn't happen very often anymore... You made more than you did bartending and I think that is the point of dancing, you make more dancing than you would at a regular job, but if you aren't making more, always quit! Don't take the drama and splitting headaches for little pay..
Now, you are new, do you know about regulars? Build up a clientele of your own and you will pretty much be able to depend on them for more than you would on customers that don't know you very well. Don't solely depend on regulars because you always want to build up more... Once you have established yourself at your new club, you might expect to earn more.. Never believe what the others tell you they are making, dancers tend to embellish the truth.
Good luck and don't let anyone get you down!
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Thanks! It's just so easy to come into this industry with fantasies about it. Like I said, I had fun and that's what counts too.
Yeah, I'd really like to build up some regulars, but I do know that takes time. There was one person who came in right before the club closed, gave me his card and said to call when I know when I'll be in again. Which will be tomorrow.
My next goal is to learn some new moves and put some routines together!!
