Thumbs up Wanna lose weight/tone up at HOME???

Who doesn't?? I know it can be hard to get to the gym at times, or it's a meat market! And then the workout videos you get are so cheesy or ineffective that you just get bored of them!

So what's a girl to do?

Well, here's what I've stumbled upon and found incredible! Beachbody.com.........Specifically Slim in 6 and the Slim Series! Yes, it's an informercial, but no, it's not a gimmick! You work out six days a week on these programs and are encouraged to eat healthy meals(I think their calorie count is too low for extended periods of time, but most of the food choices are sound). I think the best part is that it's not cheesy, and the instructor was once chubby herself! She's a cutie, and kinda funny, too. If you're already in somewhat good shape, or you can't afford both programs, I would say go for the Slim Series. It is SIX different DVD's, so you will NOT get bored, I swear!!! And they are NOT easy, you will work up a sweat, and you will FELL IT! If the pelvic tilts don't firm your booty, I don't know what will! They don't call her "Squat-Nazi Siebers" for nothing! LOL

I've already lost ten pounds with it, and I'm still going. I love it! (and no, I'm not trying to sell it or anything, just trying to help anybody out who wants a good at home program.....they're hard to find!!!!). All you'll need are 3 and 5lb weights(doesn't sound like much, but when you work with them throughout the whole tape it is), and maybe a resistance band.

    Anyways, just thought I'd share.

I saw a girl at the club last night who was in such great shape, I was so tempted to ask her how she did it!!! I welcome any tips, please!

I find the Winsor Pilates series as well as drinking my Goji Juice and V8 Hot n Spicy Vegie Juice plus generally healthy eating habits work for me. I also incorporate riding my bicycle (using it as my mode of transportation instead of public transport or my moped motorcycle) and walking (aim for 10,000 steps a week min.).

As for being bored... nope. It is because I finally found what works for me and like it. I "invested" in a whole heap of video tapes (Tae Bo, Tai Chi, Aerobics, Yoga, etc) so variety is not my problem... it is just that I finally found what works for me and stick with that.

Oh yeah.. the key isn't any particular form or type of exercise too... the key is to stay and be active. Doing everyday household chores such as dusting, vacumming, washing dishes and so forth count ... as they are ACTIVITIES... you are being ACTIVE.

Here's a perfect example of how something as everyday as getting rid of the garbage (for me) works me out: The normal garbage and recycle-able garbage bins are located at the bottom of four flights of stairs. It generally takes me 2-3 trips up/down these stairs for me to get rid of all the garbage. Now.. that's a workout!

GoldCoastGirl, I agree, it's all about what works for you!!!! That's so important! There are NO miracles, it takes hard work and eating right! I'm glad you've found what works for you! I'm still working on it, these tapes are helping me right now, but every week I get closer to finding the formula that works for me! I know I'll get there!!! I just love hearing what works for others, because, who knows, it could work for me, too! But I do keep in mind that every body is different.....comparing will get me nowhere, lol!!!
