So I got fired from my club tonight, although the GM claimed they don't fire people, they "terminate their contract". I was supposedly terminated due to too many customer complaints and for missing a shift that I wasn't even scheduled for.
The real reason I was fired was because I was on to all their Deja Vu corporate bullshit and was extremely vocal about them taking cuts for excessive dances that weren't done, as well as putting the onus of chargebacks on dancers, even though they STILL take 10% out of our funny money and charge the customers another 10% for them. As well as managers basically making up the rules as they go along, plus contradicting each other and themselves on practically an hourly basis.
Also, they tried putting me on "suspension" for a month for a supposed "outburst" I had, then I mentioned to the manager I spoke to on the phone that I had my lawyer look over my contract and that a suspension was in violation of said contract. The manager in question, Wolf, started backpedaling like a motherfucker and said that it wasn't a suspension, that I could come back to work when I pleased and that my contract along with everyone else would be renewed in a month.
The next time I work, I had two managers simultaneously accuse me of trying to "steal" a Champagne Room although the customer and I didn't go in and begin our time until the host finally got up there after we had to go to three people to ask where the guy's credit card was.
After that I went to New Orleans and Vegas and tonight was my first time back after that. They called me into the office with THREE managers (apparently I was that big of a problem?) present before I started my shift and actually gave me the option of working that night. Fuck them, they weren't getting another nickel of house fee from me! AND they tried shorting me $50 on CR money they owed me.
Some theorize the mention of the "L" word (lawyer) freaked them out, since the shift after the "L" word was mentioned I was publicly ganged up on by 2 managers and blatantly lied to, and the one after that I was flat out fired for missing a shift I wasn't even scheduled for.
I requested a letter specifying what my exact contract violation was that led them to terminate my contract. I don't think I'll get it, frankly.
I'm okay for money and I can basically work anywhere I want, but I've never been let go of a club before, especially for reasons that are this, well, imaginary and borderline psycho. I told Bridgette to be careful when she goes in tomorrow, since she's been occasionally vocal there too about constant managerial incompetence. My SO also refused to work there after dealing with their crap too.
What pisses me off is that they call themselves the top club in Baltimore but they can't attract or retain dancers. If you're the top club in a city, you think you'd have dancers banging down the door, but if you treat your employees like shit, word gets out in a small city like Baltimore. They have to import dancers from their other clubs in St. Louis and such. It's not uncommon on a Friday night to have just 12-15 dancers, less during the week!
The thought that keeps me warm at night is when Scores opens up in a few months. The only reason guys pretty much go to Hustler is for the name. The Scores name definitely has much more cachet that Hustler. Is the management at Hustler freaking about Scores? You bet they are! They're already telling the dancers at Hustler not to bother going to Scores because the guys that run it don't know how to run a club, though the GM at Hustler's only qualification to run the club is that he's the owner's son.
The vast majority of dancers at Hustler Baltimore are very unhappy there and pretty much counting the days till Scores opens. Now that DC has a baseball team pf their own that might be stealing some of the Orioles crowd away, plus Scores opening, plus Huslter's shitty location on The Block around a bunch of crack whores means they'll hang around for a while longer, but they'll be struggling which will equal more hardship for whatever employees are foolish enough to stick around.
So anyhow, any feedback is welcome. Fucking Deja Vu corporate shit.
