    Default Smiling at strip clubs

I have gotten many comments about my lack of smiling when I go into strip clubs. By nature, I just do not smile all that much unless something is funny.
Many strippers have commented on how pissed off i look when I am at the club. I have a good time at strip clubs most of the time but I just cant get myself to smile a lot. Is this really a detriment to me getting dances?
Should I change how I act and fake smiling or would that seem too weird?

You're a customer? Well, girls may be less likely to approach you if you look mean/grumpy, but if you're OK with going up to the girls you like I don't see it being a HUGE problem. It's polite to smile though, makes the dancers feel good.

Well if that's you in your avatar than you have a great smile!

I think a smile is a big part of selling the "fantasy". The few dancers I've seen who never smile just don't look like they're having any fun. They may be very attractive, but when I'm there I'm hoping to find someone to have good time with and share a few laughs. If a dancer looks bored, angry, or upset then I'm probably going to look for someone else with a more cheerful demeanor.

Often times the dancers that smile a lot just seem to have a natural spotlight on them. They give off a positive vibe, which helps brighten the customers spirits and get them in the right mood to spend. For me a great smile is very important.

That's not to say you have to walk around all the time with a fake smile plastered across your face. Some dancers are high sprited and will smile all the time, but I also know some dancers who choose not the smile all the time because they like to portray a more sultry look. Then when they make eye contact with a customer, then they'll flash them a smile. Since they don't smile all the time hopefully the smile will make the customer feel special, and be more likely to get a dance.

I have noticed a lot of dancers don't smile either - a smile I think helps so much in this business - makes you seem approachable.

    Alright new feedback....

Dude, (still laughing at myself) if you're having a good time then it's alright to crack a smile every now and then. To never smile might come off as a little creepy.

When I'm sitting back it's not like I have a permanent smile plastered on my face, I think it would kind of feel idiotic to do so. Yeah sometimes the waitress or a dancer will come up and ask why I'm not smiling, but it's usually just an ice breaker.

I've found that dancers are just like any other person, and if all other things are equal they'd like to spend time with a person who's fun to be around.

You aksed if not smiling reduces you're opportunity for dances, probably not. If you've got money I'm sure someone will find you. However not every dancer will approach every customer. Some will walk around the floor trying to make eye contact and looking for signs of positive feedback. Smiling is one way of inviting a dancer to approach you. If you never smile a dancer who doesn't already know you, might not think you want her company.

Are you going alone? If so, maybe just watch the people and chat with others at times. I really can't see sitting there with a smile on your face all night long either. A hello and a dance from a lady would be nice. Some customers just don't smile at everything, especially alone. If your with a friend/s, it's just easier to smile during your own conversation.

    Be real, be you.

Well, it can be. If you look like you're not having a good time, you send a message that you might be difficult to approach for dances. I generally smile more (and enjoy myself more) when my entertainer looks like she is enjoying herself.

If you feel that you're being ignored because your facial expression is being misinterpreted, then take the inititave to get the ball rolling. Go up to one of your favorite ladies while she's on stage and tip her. If you then find her dance worthy, then tip her a second time and make the proposition for dances yourself. Dancers love a guy who makes their job easier. I've met very few in fact who will turn down a pre-approved sale. Once you get her spirits lifted, and she returns the favor, it will be hard not to smile. Pretty soon other dancers will notice.

It really isn't about you smiling, as it is you giving the dancers some sort of feedback that you're having a good time.

Hmmmm maybe that's why I seldom get approached for dances, of course that's good sometimes too.

I don't smile much either and many times the waitress has to ask me "if I am enjoying myself."

I'm the same way... I RARELY smile even when something is funny, I think half my reason is before I was a dj I was a bouncer and had to learn how to put on a bar face so I wasn't too friendly looking. The other half is I just don't....

i don't understand why people expect women to be grinning 24-7-365...life isn't all giggles and grins...ask someone who's going through (or has been through) some major shit...if it's ok to not expect a customer to have a smile on his/her face the whole time...then why expect sc staff...and dancers to wear one from the beginning to the end of their shift...

it takes a special person to be able to grin when life is throwing rocks at them...and get this...some may not like their jobs (although i think if that's the case...then getting a new one would be in order)...even in the entertainment business...

    that is all

Why do some people still have to fight...to get the same opportunities...that are given to others??...

Now that I understand what this topic is actually about....(which, I think, is about the customer smiling...uh...but I'm not sure)

I, too, have gotten the question, "Why are you smiling? Aren't you having fun?"

Well...yeah, dammit....I am, or I wouldn't be here. I get wrapped up in the moment and just really enjoy watching a beautiful creature move almost romantically with the sounds of good music. It doesn't make me feel giddy or giggly...or very often like smiling. Unless the dancer says something sweet or amusing. I only have 2 1/2 minutes or so to absorb the moment. I'm not thinking about smiling.

And on the other hand - what Topaz said.

I dont mind talking to someone that isnt smiling.. as long as you arent frowning with your armes crossed and look like you arent having a good time at all. being a non phoney myself i really only smile unless someone is looking at me while im on the floor or if somthing is funny.. it doesent mean i dont wanna be there.. im just not a gitty person.

Too much smilling and you like you are either on something or a bit of a ditz (maybe both) I prefer to smile at certain people, especially when they tip me and I look them in the eye while I mouth a "thank you". I wouldn't stress the no smiling thing unless it really bugs you that people bring it up all the time, then I would tell them to beep off, but then again I hate to be told to smile.
    It's way too irritating.
