    Smiley Money slowly getting better??

I don't know if anyone has noticed in their area, but in the Northwest it seems that the clubs are slowly starting to pick up. It does, however seem pretty slow in Montana right now, but not as bad as last year at this time. I worked in Oregon last week and had a record high Friday night, and it just seems that more people are coming in and are spending more money these days.

I was just wondering if other areas or the country are seeing the same trends? I've been looking at my books for the past couple of years, and I am definately making more this summer/fall than I have in a while (like since 1999/2000).

Of course, a really good night in the Northwest is around $500, so still not all that great, and most girls are averaging about $200 here. My average has jumped to about $350 and I had a $560 night in Oregon recently (which is almost impossible to do because of all the stage time girls have to put in!).

I was thinking of getting out or the buisness, but am re-thinking that decision as I have been pretty satisfied with my income lately

Things have been better for me in Seattle, lately, but mostly I just attribute that to the fact that I am learning the ropes better. All the girls at my club say that December and January are the slow months, so if that's true I better make whatever I can now!

Slowly but surely, it's getting better in SAT. On average, I don't think we are making as much as we did last year, but we're getting there. I think the club average is about $300 a night, but as always, there are those of us that make more and others that make less. Until September, my personal average was $250 - 300 (eek!!) but it's gone up since.

I think Austin is picking up as well.

Business is still slow here in Wisconsin. I am making about the same amount of money as before. However, winter is the busy season in Wisconsin due to snowmobiling and hunting, so it should pick up in November.

Paris, the trends that I notice is that the actual head count of customers is down from even several years ago, with some better nights in the mix.

The key is to develop some customer following. A few "loyal" customers are the key to making up for the lesser head count.

I still work in both Billings area clubs and Shotguns is a little slower headcount wise but the last booking I hit $2265 for the week including pay and at Planet, one week was slow and I hit $1111 and the next $1951. You know how that club is. No customers until late many times. The last 4 bookings in South Dakota I have hit between $2100 and $2500. But they get a lot of older guys and I make about 1/3 of my money off of a few loyal customers I keep in touch with. In one night I sold 26 dances, 14 to one customer and another 2 the same regular guy bought 10 dances out of the 17 I sold that night and another night he bought 12 dances out of 26 sold.

Without some steady guys money could drop buy 1/3 or so.

It seems hit and miss still but if you work with girls who don't work the floor well and build some loyal customers you can still do ok.

A lot depends on finding clubs where you have a niche and developing a clientele who is loyal to you.

With the exception of the really easy money that was made in the mid-late 90s, I've consistently done better and better over the years. I attribute that entirely to continuing to get better at the job and learning to find the best markets for me, also being extremely flexible and able to adapt to certain changes. Anytime I've found myself in a slowing or stagnant market I've gotten the hell out and on to something better on the double. So I really can't say one way or another if money is getting better in any area.

However, I can tell you it's gone to hell in Puerto Rico this year, my friends who are still there say it absolutely sucks. Also from what I hear things have improved a bit in Baltimore this year, apparently due to some local reg changes allowing clubs a slight bit more freedom. I hear the city was losing alot of convention business because the strip club regs were too tight, and things got better as soon as they loosened up a little. LOL

Mine has gotten better, in large part because I'm a better saleswoman now and work the floor with much more confidence.

Now if I could just narrow the search for a new home club, I'd be golden...

Although I'm still contemplating gradually extracting myself from dancing. The fiasco at Hustler didn't help my view of this industry much at all.

    Bridgette made a key point.

In todays market it is difficult to find one city to make home. Due to anti dance ordinances being passed, and the larger amount of dancers working in most major markets nowadays, a dancer who wants to be able to support herself without major struggling must move around.

I am growing weary of working on the road but have yet to find one major city that I can reside in 12 months of the year and earn what I earn as a road girl.

To settle into one place will require having another source of income in place designed to supplement dancer income and gradually replace it.
