This says plain ole cinnamon oil will do the trick for lips. Has anyone heard of the sylicon based facial primers or know where to get it?

Sephora has something for the face...
And if you want the Cinnamon oil...you could always get Lip Venom. Sephora also has new collagen type lip stuff, too.
I would love to get the Lip Injection, but unfortunately the only 2 Sephora stores in my state are out of stock. Sephora's website says they're out of stock also. I'm going to try the cinnamon oil because I need it for this weekend and I didn't think they would be sold out. Oh well.
I could see why. Cinnamon pretty much will pull more blood to the skins surface, i.e. plumper lips, very short lived perhaps. I used cinnamon on my face once, forgot the reason, but holy crap.....It made my face red and fat feeling...not good on the face.
Do a google for silicone based face primers!

Holy crap was exactly what I was thinking about 15 minutes ago! I went to the herb shop and got a bottle. I put it on in the parking lot, then frantically ran to the nearest drink machine just so I would have a cold can to put my lips on! The good news is it worked. My lips are a little lop sided right now, I guess I didn't put it on evenly. They're also sort of numb now. Hehe, the things we do.....

Estee lauder makes a facial primer....there is a small article in the new self magazine.....Originally Posted by Candy Apple
Thanks for the article on beauty tips, I like reading stuff like that. Prescriptives Magic line has a silicone face primer too- I saw it but haven't used it. When you get the Lip Injection from Sephora let us know how it works- sounds interesting. I've read a bit about Lip Venom on this site and that sounds good too.
From that article it looks like they brighten skin. The one I saw from Prescriptives is slightly different. It's called Invisible Line Smoother and it supposedly creates a veil over wrinkles and makes them less apparent. I looked up reviews of it on makeupalley and am not really sure how well it works though. If you want to want to judge for yourself you could check it on makeupalley (under find a product) or for a product description on www.presecriptives.com (listed in the magic section.)

Primer is supposed to make your foundation application more seamless and last longer, kind of like the way you "prime" a canvas before painting it. A lot of primers have silicone in them, which fill in fine lines, large pores, and generally provide a smoother surface for the foundation to sit on.
The only primer I've tried is Laura Mercier's, along with her foundation. It's the best foundation I've ever worn in my life. It really creates the illusion of perfect skin without a mask-like effect.
Come to think of it, Peter Thomas Roth makes a mattifying primer that controls shininess. I've used it on my t-zone, under foundation, and it has worked very well.

Hmm, I like the cinnamon oil idea, I'm definitely gonna try that. But the primer/foundation thing I'll wait on. I use the Bare Minerals foundations and I find they work extremely well for me - cover every blemish and dark circles without looking caky, and doesn't crease in fine lines. Plus it's very goof-proof. I suck at applying makeup so for me, the easier the better. Always had a hard time with complicated concealer/foundation/powder systems![]()
