Default Fog Machines Messin Up My Nails

I don't know if anyone else has this problem...In my club we have fog machines that come on when we're onstage and the smoke/fog messes up my french manicure. At first I didn't know what it was until some other dancers mentioned it, we all have this grey film over our nails that won't come off, what to do? It isn't just prolonged exposure either, I mess up a good manicure in 1 or 2 nights and can't get the stuff off.

It is the chemicals in the "smoke (fog)". There really isn't a way to get it off. Maybe you could put a extra layer of top coat on. At the end of the night use a little bit of polish remover and go over each nail. You don't need to rub hard at all. That is the only way that I saved my manicures.

Can you ask the DJ not to use the fog while you're on stage? I did that...the fog messes with my lungs...I feel like I can't breath...so he wouldn't use the machine while I was dacing.

We got rid of our fog machine awhile ago. Too many customers and dancers were complaining. I love the way it looks though, I wish they could invent a better one.....

actually they have come along way with smoke and fog machines over the last 10 years.

There is smoke that doesnt smell or leave residue on everything. But like anything else, its more expensive for the good stuff.

If they insist on using smoke or fog,you can at least suggest they use good juice. Its better for the people in the club and its also better for the stuff in the club like glow in the dark carpets and expensive lighting and sound equip.

ours comes down from the ceiling, so it effects the lightshow more than the "giant cloud" look onstage that some are used to. and the juice is like 22 bucks a gallon jug, and they buy it in bulk. no residue. doesnt smell.good stuff. the only problem we've ever had was a small leak in one of the pipe fittings that was dripping onto the stage but that was easily remedied with a little silicon. ive never heard of it messing up someone's nails, but i suppose it IS possible. the only complaint i ever hear is from a girl with asthma or some such.

One of the clubs I worked at actually switched from the fog machine to the bubble machine.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

we had bubbles at one club but they gummed up machinery, and if they got on the stage, forget about walking on it. i think it lasted about a week.

Yeah the bubbles are directed to go around the stage not on the stage more on the customers on the tip rail hehehehe. Personally I'd rather just have lights and other fx than bubbles or fog.

The best I have ever seen (at a club in South Beach) was a dry ice machine. It's cool...it doesn't clog the lungs...doesn't discolor anything and looks just as cool as the smoke machine.
