"Van Helsing"

"The Day After Tomorrow"
Both very good movies. if you liked van helsing i recomend hellboy and resident evil apocalypse also good.
The only Bush i like is between your legs.
Watching Van Helsing is like having a crazy guy yell conspiracy theories at you for more than two hours!!
Despite the rococo obsessiveness of its special effects and its voracious sampling of past horror movies, Van Helsing is mostly content to offer warmed-over allusions and secondhand thrills...that being said I didn't really care for it!![]()
The other two movies mentioned were good, I really enjoyed Resident Evil...Underworld is along the lines of the aforementioned films and I highly recommend it!
Does anyone in this thread watch Anime?
Underworld was awesome, I have yet to see Van Helsing. I loved Hellboy, haven't seen the second Resident Evil movie yet...but if it's half as good as the first one I'll own it.
The Day After Tomorrow is sitting here waiting to be watched.....As far as Anime goes I can't really get into most of it.
I liked "The Day After Tomorrow". I'm most likely going to run out and buy the DVD. There are very few movies these days that I'll actually like enough to own. Van Helsing was excellent as well.
I'm waiting for "Shrek II" to come out on DVD.. heh
PUSS!... in boots, baby!
heh she said puss

As far as anime goes you have to have the palette for it...so if no one is interested I understand. Foreign films on the other hand can be some of the best you have ever seen. I encourage all of you to give some of them a chance!
One of my all time movie favorites is a French film called The Brother Hood of The Wolf! I guarantee that you will not be disappointed...it's a cross between a horror period piece and one hell of a good ride!
For all you Kill Bill fans out there...myself included! Check out a Japanese film called Princess Mononoke! In my opinion it's one of the greatest Samurai action movies ever...without the bad sound editing!
Let me know what you guys think?
You HAVE to see "Bad Santa." Christmas in America is so messed-up now, I hope this movie will end up with "A Christmas Story" as a popular favorite.....you shouldn't let the kids see it, though.

I really liked The day after tomorrow, I am wanting to get that for my birthday.
Von Helsing was a great flick. And I loved watching NYC get coverdin snow and ice in The Day After. I also went to wal-Mart the other day and got a "movie" on the $5.50 rack.
The title is "The Veil", it's an old black and white show that never made it to the small screen. Boris Karloff stars in and hosts the show. It's kinda like "The Twilight Zone" meets "Alfred Hitchcock Presents".
They also have tons of "horror" flicks there for this time of year that they usually don't carry. Last year, my neighbor got "Attack of the Killer Tomatos" and "Pirhana" last year for $5.50 each.

Oh, hubby says, He wants to know if any Sci-fi or George Lucas fans have seen the movie "THX 1138". An old Sci-fi flick he did before "Star Wars". He thinks it was Lucas' 1st movie. Stars Robert Duvall.
Haven't seen Day After Tomorrow
Van Helsing sucked the big one.

The Brother Hood of The Wolf was avery very good movie i highly recomend it as well as the japanese version of the ring it had me jumping out of my seat. as far as Anime im hooked on akira very good movie.
The only Bush i like is between your legs.
THX 1138 was Lucas's college project......Then with the help of Francis Ford Coppola it was transformed into Lucas's first feature film, seen it loved it(I had to watch it twice to stay awake but it was a cool flick)Originally Posted by kitana
Le pacte des loups, aka the brotherhood of the wolf was incredible!
Finally, a good zombie movie with some decent fart jokes!
Shaun of The Dead is a film in which all the sad compromises of adulthood are symbolized by a pressing need to lop off your undead neighbor's rotting head with a cricket bat. Nicely done!!!
Side note to the other anime FAN...check out Angel Sanctuary, Memories and Cowboy Bebop.
Has anyone seen Begotten or Eraser Head?

Yes I have seen "Eraser". I own that movie. I liked it very much....![]()
Van Helsing was a reasonably enjoyable yarn. Special effects driven. The main characters were good.
I keep trying to gear myself up for "The Day After Tomorrow." Movies take in that "willing suspension of disbelief," and I'm not geared up for that after hearing the purely impossible events and inconsistencies of the movie. I'm sure the effects are great.
I watched THX 1138 as long as I could. It was a bit slow. Maybe I had an off night.
And there's certain anime that I enjoy. Princess Mononoke was great. It was an anime movie that those who ordinarily don't like anime might like.
By "Eraser," do you mean the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Vanessa Williams flick? With the amazing gun that fires aluminum bullets at close to *hack*cough* the speed of light? (You see some of my problem with that "willing suspension of disbelief" thing...)
I meant to write Eraser Head..Sorry for the confusion!
