    Default Answer quick if possible!!!

    Hi there!
I just got the call I've been waiting for......not dancing yet, but waitressing in a strip club!!!! The only thing is, I've never actually waitressed at a bar! The owner knows that, so I'm not worried about that. I'm just sort of nervous about the whole TRAY thing...........is it really difficult to balance? Or will I pick it up pretty quick?? Any other waitressing pointers??? I don't want to make a fool of myself by dropping or spilling anything!!!! He said he won't have me doing anything TOO difficult tonight, but a little boost of confidence from someone here would be much appreciated!!!

    THANKS GIRLS!!!

You'll be fine. Cocktail waitresses typically use small circular trays that have non-slid surfaces. You can't put that many drinks on them, so they're not too heavy or difficult to balance. It's not like the big oval trays cater waiters have to use - now those are a bitch to balance!

Don't sweat spilling on a customer or breaking a glass - it happens even to the most seasoned of waitresses. Practice your aim - there will be times when you may want to spill something on a customer

    LOL...that's funny.

I waitressed for most of my 20's. It's not a biggie. Of course, I didn't work at a strip club...I waitressed (and bartended) at the night clubs. There, I would prefer to carry the drinks in my hand as opposed to on a tray (nothing like a bunch of drunk wanna-be dancers flinging their arms around while you're trying to balance a full tray and move people out of the way...heh). But, at the clubs...most people are sitting down...so it's a bit easier to manuever. You'll be fine. It you are unsure about the tray...just use one hand to carry and another to "steady" the tray. In no time flat, you'll be carrying the tray one-handed like a pro!

Good luck!! Have fun and make lots of money!!

    Thanks so much!
They ended up throwing me upstairs to a different bar, where it was ladies night and I was the shooter girl, lol. But tonight I will be at the strip club. The tray wasn't too bad yesterday, except for like Venus said when there was the wannabe dancers or just careless jerks who bump into you. But yes, at the strip club most people are seated, so I think it will be easier! Let me tell you, it's not easy selling $4.25 shots at a ladies night when you're a girl!!! But I did pretty well for my first night, I'm happy. And the other girls working were actually really nice and helpful, I was worried they wouldn't be friendly, but they totally were! MY FEET are sore, but I had a great time! I'll be working again in a few hours, then hopefully we can set up some sort of schedule so I know when I'll be working! SO NICE to be making money finally, YAY!!!
