Just wondering if tanning would help blend stretchmarks. I'm brown skinned and have no business tanning anyway, my only purpose would be to hide the stretchmarks on my ass...would this work?

Yes,it definately helps the little white ones, but not the darker ones.

Ok well, like I said I'm brown skinned, my stretch marks are a couple shades lighter though, so would the effect still be the same? I'm nervous to just go and try because A. What if it makes it worse? and B. When I go in the tanning salon they're all gonna look at me like I'm lost cause I'm not pale. It would be ideal if someone would go test this theory first and then let me know, oh how I need a human guniea pig at my disposal...

I would used fake tanner...I dont think bed tanning really helps mine, but Nutrogena (i hate spelling) fake tanner worked well.

The superficial strechmarks kind of go away with tanning... The really bad deep red strechmarks just seem to tan but still stand out. But overall I think they look better tanned than not. I have light olive skin.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

I'm white and didn't even know I had stretch marks until I went tanning! Now I can see them.

Yeah Artemis - I think I can see mine too! Eek! I'm hoping that in the dim lights of the club they do not show up so much! My customers don't seem to notice so far! lol

I am a woman of color and I used to have a membership at the tanning salon. I had got the funny looks at first bcuz my skin is naturally tanned but when they got used to seeing me then it was all good. But I do have stretch marks and the tanning DID help a whole lot. It gives this gorgeous, even tone to the skin. Like you just got back from vacation. But I have long stopped using the salons. I bought some sunless tanning lotion from my local pharmacy and it works the same as a suntan if not better. You have to test and see which ones work better for your skin. All lotions are definitely not the same. Once you found your lotion you can control where you apply it. I apply to my whole body and then I wait a few hours then I go over the areas where I think I need some more color. If you're shy about the salon try a sunless tanner. Salons are usually private though. The ones I've been too.
retin-A !Best time to use it is when the stretch marks are new.
