    Default modeling advice

    Hi Ladies
I just joined onemodelplace.com (i'm number 133709) just for a little extra money and fun. I love modeling for my husband and have no problem with other people seeing pictures of me.
The thing is I put my profile up two days ago and have been bombarded with emails and messages. I've never modeled before.
Does anyone have any advice? Things I need to know? Questions I need to ask? What to charge? How to decide who to work with?

I would be extremely grateful for any advice/help?
    Thanks in advance
    Charlotte

Welcome to the world of Internet modeling.

I'd say you should read through your e-mails and messages carefully. A huge bunch of them will be pervs with a camera who want to see you naked. The amount of nudity in your portfolio will encourage those types, too.

When going through your messages, look for photographers who already have something going on their portfolio that actually looks good. Look for professionalism in the approach. If they offer references, check them. If they don't offer references, ask for them. There's a bunch of other things. It wouldn't hurt to browse the advice boards at OMP and the forum at for good advice along those lines.

If you don't mind having a nude picture of you turn up on some "amateur" Web site, that's fine and good. If you want your pictures used a little more appropriately, then tell a potential photographer that you want that type of limitation on the MRF (model release form). If the photographer doesn't have an MRF to offer, or know what one is, maybe you should pass on that one.

You might fill out your portfolio with more about yourself - what you're looking to achieve, the type of work you're looking for, etc.

As for price, there's a lot of eyerolling among photographers about models who have no experience who want to charge $150/hour for nude shoots. Happy hunting. I'd say you might want to do a model search for your area in OMP and see if you can find out what some other people are charging. I have some other thoughts, but not for public consumption.

    Good luck.
