    Default Slim Fast

I am doing the Slim fast plan to lose five pounds I've recently gained (too much drinking this past month and too many missed cardio sessions) and want to lose it really fast. So I opted for the Slim fast diet. I was wondering how long it would take to be on it to lose about five pounds. For the record I work out three days a week for two hours and eat healthy so I don't plan on this becoming a lifestyle choice for me just to lose those five pounds I put on. So when I am done I am going to be very carful about not missing my cardio sessions and watching my champagne intake! So how long do I have to endure this crappy Slim Fast diet!!

the best diet to lost weight fast is to drink just fresh squeezed grapefruit juice for 3 days. The enzyme in the juice, bromelain, breaks down fat and cellulite very quickly. You need to use fresh squeezed though, becasue the enzyme is destroyed during the pasteurization process. This method works very well and you can easily lose 5 pounds of fat and in 3 days.

It worked very well for my cousin, who lost ten pounds in a month. You have to get used to replacing the meal with the shake, and then it's easy. I recommend buying the low-carb Slim Fast- the sugar content in the regular might make you sick if you have blood-sugar problems.
Soup is a good way to supplement the diet plan- I found out just trying to fill up on water makes the kidneys just kick it out quicker.

There are alot of calories in those slim fast drinks.I tried them before.I think its a big scam.It would take a long time to lose weight drinking them I think.I would rather eat a 250 or 300 calorie meal than drink one of those.I think its a waste of money. But like the other person posted,it is true about the grapefuit if you'd want to try that.

Slim Fast really upsets my stomach! What I have tried that has NEVER upset my stomach and actually works great as a meal replacement is "ON" brand Instantized Whey Protein in vanilla ice cream flavor. I got a jar of this at my local supplement/bodybuilding/health store (GNC). You mix a scoop of it with milk and have a great-tasting shake. It is excellent to put in a portable cup when you are short on time headed to work or just for a meal replacement or snack. Tastes great and fills me up without all the calories and that "thick" feeling of a Slimfast. You can also take this powder and mix it with yogurt or fruit in a blender and make a yummy smoothie - instant healthful breakfast or lunch! My bodybuilder friends swear by it! I bought the big jar back in April and still have not used the whole thing!

I know this is bit off topic of the slim fast diet ...but can anyone give me a proper link to what grapefruit or cabbage diet. There are so many versions of the two.
As for the slim fast diet ..I could never get the hang of it myself. Untill they can put potatoes or pasta in a drink and make it taste good thats when I'll be back.

Damn, I HATE both grapefruit and cabbage!! Nogo for me, LOL!

I have those 200 calories shakes, ready made, and use them as meal replacement when in a hurry or wanting to lose a pound or two. They work well but I'm always hungry!

Whew many meds. are affected by grapfruit. This would be grapfruit jiuce as well. What i know is the grapefruit will either cancel out alot of the meds ability to get into the blood stream, or it will make the medication stronger in the blood. The pharmamcist gave me a list once.
I will try to Google it!

sorry ladies, gotta jump in here...

all diets are bullshit.. atkins seems to be the trendy one right now.. arent you noticing the word CARBS on just about everything these days?

when you're talking about grapefruit and cabbage, what you're really looking at is calorie reduction.. which has been shown to, yes maybe drop off pounds rapidly, but not for the long term.

any sane doctor will tell you that proper calorie intake, proper nutrition and regular excersise is the only way to go.

going on a diet, and then changing back to your old eating habits don't work, correct.

Lilac states she wants to lose a few lbs with a diet (which will work) then resume with her lifestyle that kept her at her comfortable weight. People these days use a diet just to drop a few lbs, then change other factors that kept them in that "rut." IT works! You can't live on most diets as they don't produce enough nutrition for the long haul.

    Sad Re: Slim Fast

Hi, I am a new member, but I wanted to comment on this. I GAINED weight on slimfast. A while back they had the jumpstart plan which you do for 5 days, and then follow with regular slimfast. I gained five pounds in one week. It could just be me, though, but it seemed to have so much sugar, I would get a headache and lightheaded after drinking one of the shakes.
