Default Do you wear a watch?

I've heard that it's bad to wear a watch because it makes guys aware of what time it is (which is the idea behind not having them in casino). My club even banned watches for awhile for that reason.

Now, I like wearing a watch. It keeps me focused on my incremental goals. It helps me with my hustle in the VIP (i.e. I know when our time is almost up and can start working on selling another).

So what do you do? also, if you wear a watch, do you wear a high-end watch or something more understated? I have a diamond Movado which has a nice amount of bling that I usually wear.

Sometimes I wear this clear green plastic watch that kinda looks like a bracelet. Guys never seem to notice, but then again we don't do VIP in incremental time blocks, I just charge $20 per song. With each song at 4 minutes, I make sure to get about $160 for 9 songs, its easier to count the songs......

I own a watch, but I don't wear it at work. It's a pretty nice one and I'd be afraid I'd break it when I'm on stage or something. Besides, there's a clock in my club and I carry my cell phone in my purse (which has the time on it.) I have noticed that many clubs do not have a lot of clocks in them, and the clocks that they do have are not in a prominent place for the reason that Emily said. Sometimes guys will stay longer if they're having fun and they lose track of the time. Besides, if someone really needs to know what time it is, it's easy enough to just ask someone.

I don't wear a watch because if I have an inkling as to how slowly time is passing, it'll make dancing seem too much like work and not so much like a party, which is my game w/ the customers. There's a clock in one room, but only so we can time lapdances w/o hearing the music, and it's hidden away so far in the corner the customers don't notice it.
...and the day came, when the risk it took to remain closed in a bud became worse than the risk it took to blossom.

I don't wear a watch. For some reason I don't think a watch looks good when you're naked. Regular jewelry yes, but a watch is a big turn off for me, like you're not focused on what your'e doing or have something better to do later.

I didn't wear a watch for years, and just started doing so a few months ago. I am not a clock watcher, don't sit checking my watch as I'm talking to a guy (I pay attention to the song changing), but I do find that occasionally checking the time (maybe 3 times a night while I'm in the bathroom or getting a soda at the bar) helps motivate me. I keep busy from the time I hit the floor til the lights come on, and if I notice it's still early and I've made some $, it puts me in a good mood to keep going. If I notice it's near closing it motivates me to get the last of whatever I can before lights on.

I NEVER sit checking my watch with a customer. Never. It ruins the fantasy and screws up the flow.

My work watch is a $30 deal that came with 2 different leather bands, one pink and one black, that can be switched out to match my outfits. I just bought a Gucci watch which I will NEVER wear to work.

I never used to wear a watch, but that was because it was too beautiful for the club.

Nowadays, I have this really kiddy plastic one and wear it with every outfit at work, no matter how classy or fun the outfit is! Sometimes when I'm dancing for a guy and I get a glance of it, I can't get over how out-of-place it looks. It's got nothing to do with time at all.

I wear a watchmostly for the 1/2 hour champagne rooms and also so I know when I can go home. lol As for count the songs, I just listen to when the song's done...don't need to be looking at my watch then. But, yes, I agree that it generally puts the customer in the wrong frame of mind if you have to constantly be checking your watch.

I have a watch in my dance purse. It's a tiny cheap one. I won't wear my usual watch to the club I used to and it got really scratched up.

No, I'd probably not get as many dances if I did, cause I'd always be looking at me watch and radiate this don't-waste-my-time-buy-a-dance-NOW attitude all night.

Either that, or I'd just sit off in a corner and pick my nose all night, if I knew that it was still early.

I never wear a watch when I'm at work. I know what time I'm supposed to be there and I know what time I get off, other than that the time that's spent on customers is really not that important as long as they keep paying for their drinks and their dances. I usually wear a watch on my days off, only to make sure that I get every thing that I need, done.

I don't wear a watch, when I'm djing I just play 3 song sets as opposed to watching the time...

My fiancee' bought both of us Tag Heuer watches several years ago and I never go anywhere without mine, and that includes the club and the gym.

I don't feel it affects my dealing with customers. Of course I don't look at it in the middle of talking with a customer.

I wear a watch and I've found that I work harder because I'm more aware of the time. It's very helpful when I'm in the VIP room because I can just look at it and keep track of how long I've been there with my customer. I wear this one:

    http://www.bulova.com/brands/bulova/...&origin=search

It's very small and in the dark it kind of looks like a bracelet. The only thing is that I'm careful about checking the time when I'm with a customer. I usually do it when they're not looking (if I'm doing a lapdance I can glance down at it when they're staring at my breasts or something, or if I'm on their lap and in a position where they can't see my eyes.)

Overall I like wearing a watch. It keeps me focused on how much I'm earning per hour and forces me to be productive.

If wearing a watch works for you, more power to ya.Just know its costing you and the people your working with money.

There are many very very good reasons why you dont see clocks on the wall in top clubs.Entertainers wearing bling bling watches,or even micky mouse cheapo's is defeating the whole purpose and costing everyone money.

    I agree,whatever works for you,BUT...
cmon now,if you didnt have a watch on,do you think he wouldnt still give you a compliment??I bet if you switched the watch for a bracelet,he wouldnt even notice.
I know of many fetishes and try to participate in as many as possible in my spare time, but i have never heard of a watch fetish.Rolexaphile??Timexasexual??

I say whatever works for you, unless of course its cost you AND ME money.

Wrap your watch around your cell phone, lock it in your locker or work bag till works over.

    I soooo agree.

And not only that but when a dancer looks at her ( or his watch) it sends a signal that she either

    a) doesn't want to be w/ him , which ruinms the moment/fantasy of it all aka she's just doing her job ='s he's not special or good enough

    or

    b) she doesn't want to be working in the club -- which combines the above as well as possibly some guilt issue of some sort in him- like his wife or kids or even moral/religous stuff he may habor- ya never know with people - LOL !

I also suggest dancers not wear a cross or other religious jewelry, for the same basic reasons.

You don't want to bring about any negative underlying emotions in customers- many already come in the door with more than enough of that anyway .......
you want to make the guys smile , drink, laugh, get horny and buy dances, leave happy and wanting to return soon

I can vouch for that personally. Nothing breaks the fantasy like a dancer checking her watch! (In fact just having it there can be a distraction...)

    Nope.

I use my cell phone to check the time when I need to.

    This is interesting.

I wear a watch, but it's hard to see at a quick glace (black background with small face and hands)

I always wondered if I was hurting myself. I've tried both ways and it really doesn't seem to matter.
