You should try England. I worked with two British dancers and they had very good things to say about the money. However, competition is tight and the clubs charge high stage fees. See for more info.
I've been warned about the rest of Europe (stripper=hooker in many countries) but I'd try England if I were you. Safer than most destinations, and the British hate George W. more than a lot of the Americans that voted against him! Good luck!

England, St Maarten that I know of. I would think it wouldn't be too hard to work in Australia either.

In St Maarten you can work at a club called the Platinum Room, nice club, from what I hear good money, and they will get you a visa to work legally. St Maarten is a tiny island in the caribbean, you can drive round the perimeter in like an hour-hour and half, gorgeous beaches and laid back atmosphere, half french/half dutch, great shopping. One of the best things about living in the caribbean is the ease of travel to the other islands - many are around an hour flight away from each other and flights are cheap. I loved it! Also most people you'd deal with there speak english.

England and Australia would both have a wide range of possibilities for living and working. I lived in London for 8 months in 2000, clubs are much more strict than ours, from what I hear they STILL are. There is money to be made. I have seriously considered going to Bournemouth, a southern coastal town with two nice clubs. They don't seem to be as strict as US clubs about legal work docs over there. I imagine some of our english and aussie members can chime in here. No language barrier in these places...

Seraya babe how are you? Don't hear much from you lately
Hmm, I'd be interested to know about a good money club in London as well, been discussing going over early with a friend...

Thanks for the responses. I went to that best dancers site yesterday and looked at it a little. I would be afraid to go to the Carribean because of the hurricanes (although I'm sure it would be a really beautiful place). As for England, I love it when English guys come into my club. They are always very nice and respectful. Much nicer than American guys. I have always had good experiences with guys from Canada as well.

My biggest fear about going to another country is just not knowing about the stupid everyday stuff like do they have grocery stores that specialize in organic food? Is it as common for the dancers in places like England, Canada or Austrailia go to tanning salons as it is here in the U.S.? What are the good gyms for working out with weights? Do they have places like home depot so I can fix up my apartment? Do they have stores with affordable furniture and clothing like Target? What about the cost of electricity bills and transportation and car insurance? If I have bad credit here in the U.S.A., will it be a problem trying to find an apartment? I know that some of these things seem like such trivial things to worry about; but these are the things that scare me about going to another country. -- Of course, I am even more scared of all the fanatical, brain washed zealots in this country-- very, very scared.

Thanks again for any info. and Thank God for Stripper Web!

    Hey there!
As for Canada, we do have organic food stores...especially here in BC. We also have Home Depot, Rona, and Canadian Tire(which has a ton of stuff for the home, not just tires ) for fixing up your home. We have Walmart and Zellers(which might be turning into Target) and Winners(which is similar to Ross I believe....brand names at lower prices) and even Old Navy for inexpensive clothing. I've gotten a lot of furniture from Walmart, I love the place. There are always a ton of gyms in the cities, even all ladies ones if you like. The dancers here look like they generally do go to tanning salons or use self-tanner, but I've seen pale girls as well. I don't know about your credit question....I don't think that it would make it hard for you to get an apartment.....to get an apartment they usually just like to know that you have a steady job. Not too sure what your questions are about electricity bills...we have BC Hydro. A lot of apartments include heat, hot water and hydro in the rent, so you don't have to worry about it. If not, you just have to call them and "sign up". Depending on how long you're staying, your US driver's licence is fine. Again, depending on how long you're staying, your car insurance should be fine, too. I don't think you have to change any of that unless you're here for more than three months.

I hope that helps a little bit ???? I hope I haven't spoken too broadly about Canada....I've lived in two provinces, well, I guess you could say three, so I'm just going by what I know about those provinces. Where were you thinking about in Canada, if you were considering it at all? I love it here!!

    I hope you're doing well

All the modern industrialized countries have all the modern conveniences we have in the US. Speaking of England specifically, they have all the ranges of shopping, from discount dept stores and cheap clothing stores to fancy expensive stuff, and everything in between. Affordable furniture stores too, but it is common to find furnished rentals there - nicely furnished. They have tanning salons and strippers do use them. Gyms, workout classes, you name it. European countries don't even import American meat because of all the drugs we use, and their food is generally lacking alot of the preservatives and chemicals we use in food processing. Their regular stuff is much more organic than ours. But yes you can get "organic" stuff there too.

In London at least, public transport is excellent and you can live there and do everything without ever having a car. Between the buses, subway (tube) and trains you can get around easily and affordably. You can buy weekly, monthly passes for tranport, they sell them by zones there, and the passes get you in and out of the transport system for the whole week/month. You just buy the pass for whatever zones you live and work in, and you're off. Zones are set up in circles around Central London. Zone 1 is Central London and zone numbers go up as you get further out of the center.

If you buy a car there, you'll need to get an English driver license and insurance. Their regs are similar to ours, with the exception that the driver license testing is more thorough.

Housing can be very easy to come by or very difficult, depending on what you're after and how flexible you are. House shares are very common in London since real estate prices and rents are so high. I shared a 4 BR house there in a very nice neighborhood with 2 other people who were a pleasure to cohabitate with and I would definitely do it again if I were to move back there. English people are generally more thoughtful and proper than we are, so house sharing there isn't nearly as dreadful as it can be here. Rental agencies tend to be more picky about choosing tenants there, from my experience, making house shares a better option for a newcomer to get something affordable without having to resort to providing blood and the last month's poop samples.

Bank accounts are all free in England. No such thing as monthly fees. They are however, more difficult for foreigners to get. I was able to get a savings account with a debit card attached though, which worked basically like a checking account except no checks and no standing orders for bills. I was able to deposit money and cash checks though, as well as pay bills online and use the debit card at the register at stores and ATMs. I could not get a regular checking account there, could have after a few more months of satisfactory use of my savings account, but I didn't stay in country long enough.

They don't use the same credit scoring system as in the US, so your US credit shouldn't affect you abroad. At least not for getting apartments and such. If you go with private landlords, they will want previous rental references and of course deposit and rent up front, same as American private landlords. Rental prices are usually listed in weekly rates, but you generally pay a month at a time.

Here is a link to a great site for classifieds, I think it's the best classified for London area at least. Should give you an idea about prices for housing, cars, furniture, etc.

I know it's daunting to think of learning how to get along in daily life in a whole new country, but it's really not so difficult to change. Humans are very adaptable by nature and people aren't so different around the world.

Also in England violent crime is low, guns are practically unheard of. It is not nearly as important to find a "good" neighborhood there as personal safety isn't as big an issue. It's more important to find a convenient neighborhood that suits your lifestyle and is within your budget.

BTW my question about the electricity bills is monetary. I was wondering if electricity is expensive in places like Canada, England and Austrailia. I think that it is great that water and heat are included in most Canadian rentals because I know that it gets cold up there.

As for the tanning question, my skin is extremely pale and I use a special tanning bed here in Vegas which emits 99% UVA rays and only 1% UVB rays. I have to be extremely careful about tanning because I am very prone to skin cancer. If tanning is not essential to earning $$$ as a dancer in Canada, England or Austrailia, I would be happy to go back to being the pale person that I naturally am.

speaking for australia, no you dont NEED to tan,but youd stand out not tanned cos everyone here is pretty brown.

in aussie, electricity and water is seperate, and a monthly bill is usually about $100 AUD (i found, but my dads is only about $40!!)
