and I can't seem to get some of it back on... two and a half months ago I was 145 pounds and now I am down to 121 pounds and still shrinking... nothing fits, and I AM EATING. In fact, I am eating more now than I was before... any thoughts?

I hope you feel better Gynger. Get to the doc and keep us posted...![]()
Were you working at your day job two and a half months ago? Working two jobs plus raising a family can burn a lot of calories sometimes.
But Miss George is right about the possibility of hypothyroidism. It's not the most likely explanation, but a possibility. 20+ lbs without even trying and your habits are still the same? Get it checked out and let us know how it goes.

maybe it's just stress related.

Go to the doctor and get some general lab work done. Go in the morning before you eat or drink so that you don't have to make another appt.
If it's not a health issue:
I have a very high metabolism and have a hard time keeping 120 lbs on me (I'm 5'9").
I find that bread and beer (in moderation!) put weight on me.
Gynger, go see a Dr. you could have a thyroid problem. Good luck!

I went to the doctor. Everything seems to be ok. In one week, I have lost another 7 pounds.. and now I am down to 114 pounds on my 5'7 frame. I've been eating.. but I've also had a lot of changes recently. I'm not overly tired, in fact I'm now getting any where from 8-9 hours of sleep a night. I'm working out too, I just am completely flabbergasted at the weight I have lost. I baked a big pan of Baked Ziti yesterday and I've upped my carbs and I've been drinking some beer.. hopefully that will help, but its too thin for me. I go back in two weeks... so far so good, just odd.

have you been doing any coke?![]()

If she was doing coke she probably wouldn't be eating.
but Gynger I'm glad the doctor said everything was ok. It's probably because you've just got so much going on.

Chemical442 I hope your kidding? Haha I didnt laugh when I read that. Some girls do drugs but there are more than enough girls that dont for someone like me to get offended by that comment. That was not constructive or helpful.
Gynger, I dont have much advice for you but I hope things get better and you get down to the bottom of why you lost so much wieght. At least your baked Ziti and good complex carbs will help some?

I admit I'm completely clueless on this subject but could there be some kind of parasite in your system?![]()
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
TigersMilk, no... I wasn't joking. I don't think my question was any different than asking if it could be her day job or a thyroid problem or stress related or a parasite in her system.
Sorry you feel that way.

I personally took offense to it because it's just playing on tired old negative dancer stereotypes.Originally Posted by Chemical442

I asked a simple question; one without any alterior motives, without any under lying meanings, without any disrespect. I have had several buddies fall into the cocaine trap. I know it's nothing to joke about. It's YOU guys who are making more of my question than what was intended. I asked a yes/no question. Enough over analyzing it already... WOW!
I'd like to thank you all for telling me what I was thinking. It's amazing I have gotten through almost 30 years of life, college, owning my own business, etc. without other people around to tell me what I mean for me...

I don't think it's playing on sterotypes I thought it was a valid question.

but gynger's not silly enough to ask us why is she losing weight and the reason is some secret bindle fest.

Gynger, sorry if my honest question offended you. I had no idea it would be turned into such a controversy. Whatever ails you, I hope you can fix it. Good luck.

Valid question yes. BUT since dancers are "known" to do coke for extra energy, the question seemed kinda harsh. Please be more "dancer friendly" in the future, you are out numbered hun. But accepted.
Gynger get a check-up, could be many reasons why. Feel better.

Chemical, as anyone on this website will tell you, I am FAR from doing any type of drug.. and no, wouldn't touch any drugs.. I am a mom, I have a life that is a bigger high than any drug could ever provide!!!

Chemical,
I don't know anything about you but I hope I can make this point. I'm not offended by your cocaine question but I have been offended in the past. As dancers, we live in a world where a large majority of hte population believe we're all drug users. It can get old and tiring to always be questioned about our drug use or non-drug use. I've had very good friends assume that I'm a drug addict soley because I dance. I had a guy accuse me once of going on a drug binge and suffering from the coming down phase because i was sick for a week. I am in NO WAY saying that you think this about dancers but I hope it helps to make it clear why some of us are sensitive about the subject. We get tired of questions like that.
I was going to try to think of an example involving negative connotations but I don't want to risk anyone else getting offended!
Gynger, hope you get to feeling better and I think it's wise to ad carbs back in to your diet. Everything in moderation.
Miss Taylor, your post was perfect!I now understand where all the animosity was coming from!
Many here thought my question came from a derogitory stand point based on stereo types. But rather, my question came from having been exposed to "that scene" before. I've seen what it's done to people I know, and asked my question based on what I've witnessed.
Again, sorry my seemingly subjective question ruffled so many feathers... that was not it's intention.![]()
