I use "Super's" and if it's too heavy that month, I take those nights off......

If you won't douche, use a sterile white washcloth and hot water to wipe yourself well, then insert tampon.
I personally wear thicker bikini bottoms on heavy days and douche + Instead softcup.

seems to keep everything where it should be, you can leave it in longer, and no strings to worry about. I am right at the beginning of mine

I haven't had a period in months, but what I used to do is take the first two nights off, the rest of the week my flow was lighter that I would be able to use a tampon. If it's been really heavy try to schedule those few days as your days off, or switch days with another dancer.

hmm.. my sis is very very heavy, and what she does is. she gets the small thick tampons, and puts two up in her, and cuts the string (as groose as it may sound, it works) and means she doesnt have 2 keep running to the loo and missing dances all the time... // or just take the first couple of days off, and after a couple days it should be lighter... x

Yeah me too. Oh wait, I'm always a mean bitch!

I'm about to bleed any minute now and I feel like a beached whale. I'm basically waiting for the bleeding to start so I can audition someplace new this week, but my tummy's usually one of my best features and it's a bit doughy right now from retaining what appears to be Lake Erie.

I typically take the first night off for several reasons. First, I get VERY tired and VERY crampy the first day. I just want to curl up with my hot water bottle and watch "Dynasty" reruns on SoapNet and pop a half a Vicodin to get rid of the cramps (yes it's that bad, and yes I've been examined for it - no medical reason).

Sometimes it's hard to take needed days off if you work in a club that requires a schedule. Here's my advice for that...

Bring some Advil or Aleve and some high-protein and high-calcium snacks for the shift. Also, bring a heating pad or hot water bottle with you. Depending on how long or busy your shift is, try to take a break every 2 hours or so and have a snack with some heat on your belly. Avoid caffeine even if you're tired, since that usually makes cramps worse. For bleeding, if it's heavy. The Instead cup works well, if you can't find them in your area you can order them online.

If I can time it right, I will miss work when I'm menstruating. I dislike working on my period, it totally affects my performance.

I know this sounds gross but it works ..... What you do is go to wal-mart and buy the round make up sponges and use those.. thery are softer and you cant feel them at all.. it is less pressure on your in ternally and they hold very well works just as well as the instead cups and less expensice. bad part is fishing it back out ...but its the same princple as the instead cups....I know I said its gross. but it works great!

I danced with my period tonight and last night- wore tampon cut the string after putting in and tucked the string. I went to the bathroom after doing some dancing and the string is hanging out and had been hanging out a bit for the dances and onstage. Opps. I wonder if guys know what that white thing is.
