i get my ballot and head to the booth. now, the only question that remains is which candidate to vote for office. i think i'll vote according to one of the following methods:

method one: my own personal form of term limit voting. which is to vote against the incumbent. i figure one term in office is enough time for any man to run the country into the ground. so, why give him another term? so, i could vote for Kerry, but not because i think he is the more impressive choice. quite the opposite, he just happens to be the non-incumbent. so, if the positions were reversed then i would do the exact opposite.

method two: vote for any third party wacko in sight. why? they can't afford to inundate me with tv and radio commercials, pamphlets, flyers, phones calls, posters, bumper stickers, and requests for campaign contributions over a 12 month period before the election is supposed to take place. they can't afford to patronize with me with an agenda crafted and shaped by polls, surveys and demographic research. they can't afford to pander with talking points such as tax cuts, tax increases, divine inspiration, war records, terrorist mongering, or catch phrases like "axis of evil" or "vote or die". they can't afford to have their "message to the people" processed, prepackaged and ladled out in bowls to be spoon-fed to the public by political consultants, advocacy groups and media hacks.

the choice was simple. as usual, i picked method two. in any case, the day after the election. it was nice to see the american public gorge themselves on the meal, set out by the usual suspects, it so truly deserves.
