Try to keep up Big Green! I've been dancing to Connected for months! Some of my recent additions....

    Cities in Dust by Siouxsie
Desperate but not serious by Adam Ant
    Radio Clash by the Clash
How soon is now by the Smiths (never thought during my teen angst years that this could be a very seductive song, great to move to)

    What else ya got!

cities in dust is a GREAT song. and as much as i like morrissey/the smiths, i have to say when it comes to "how soon is now?" getting played in the SC, i much prefer the Love Spit Love version from The Craft soundtrack. sounds almost exactly the same, just a little bit peppier. the lyrics to that song make me wanna shoot myself in the face, by the way.

"there's a club, if you'd like to go
and you can meet someone who truly loves you.
so you go, and you stand on your own,
and you leave on your own,
and you go home and you cry and you want to die"

yup yup. they don't call morrissey "the pope of mope" for nothing.

I do like the Love Spit Love version but personally, the original takes me back to those carefree days of my youth.

i see your "nasty girl" and raise you a pair of "love bizarre" and "sex shooter". and yes , i have the SRC version of "how soon is now" as well. i bust out old shit ALL the time, as does mr phillydj. there's actually a few girls we work with who have noticed customers being much more into the stuff we bust out for them that we now have total free reign when they're onstage. (i played the committments the other night, too....but i played the version of "mustang sally" instead.)

i love dancing to white lines. my club has an alarming cokehead population, and those that 'get' the song tip me extry once i hop off stage. it's funny, sort of.

Here's a few classics i'll go out to

The Church - Under the Milky Way
    Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus
    Blondie - Heart of Glass
    Madonna - Like a Prayer

and I forget who does the original version of "Ghost In You"; it was redone by Counting Crows for the Clueless soundtrack. All of these go over pretty well on a slow shift w/ a room full of older men and a girl that just cleared the stage dancing to an otherwise non-invasive hip hop hit.
...and the day came, when the risk it took to remain closed in a bud became worse than the risk it took to blossom.
