Default dancing on a stge without a pole?!

when i go back to nz to dance ill be working at "the white house" a great club, but it lacks poles.

ive danced at a table club before, and found it difficult and strange, so i dont know how ill cope with no pole. and its a runway like stage, with guys sitting around it,alone on a stage without a pole. doesnt sound like fun to me.

im a bit lost on what i can do, stand there looking goofy?! lol im not so good at floor work either,as ive never had to do it.lazy !

    any ideas?

This is a great question. I am at a loss as well. That's why I avoid Dollhouse- I feel awkward withiut something to steady myself with or include in my moves.

Put on a song at home that you normally would dance to and practice what you would do. Moves like you're taking a shower give you something to do when you're standing up. If you've seen those Herbal Essence commercials, you know what I'm talking about. Also, watch any floor work you see other girls doing. The lay-down-arch also helps take up time. I've found that customers love a long cat-like crawl when you go over to them so they can tip you. Good luck, and have fun practicing!

Both clubs that I have worked at do not have a pole onstage. Actually my club is kinda like the one you described-a runway without a pole. I just go really slow. Actually I don't even really dance. I just stand and caress myself, play with my hair, and walk around. Try squating down, going down on one knee and caressing your leg like it you were putting on stalkings, or aching your back and let your hair flow. Sometimes if it is a fast song, and I really like it I dance a little faster like a girl in an 80s rock video. It is still sexy but it looks like you are having fun, which guys like. If you need an idea watch the video "Cherry Pie" by warrent and dance like the girl in it-but only if it is a real fun upbeat song, otherwise do the other stuff I mentioned.

Yeah No pole is bizarre at first...Some places have overhead rails that you can use to balance/quick twirls on, but most don't support full body weight....

Mirrors (if your allowed to touch them), and good to lean on, or face up against & give a nice booty view...

I worked at a club with no pole once, I hated it. It does really take away from a great stage show especially if it's a classier joint and they don't allow floor work so you just kinda stand there and look dumb. I hated it.

I could not imagine dancing on stage without a pole! I would be lost! 90% of my performance is with the pole.....

I have been to clubs that did not have a pole and I thought it was very strange...

I've danced at a club like that. No pole. It's not that bad. Guys just want to see the guppy shots. Talk to the crowd more, spread 'em, talk, bend over. You catch my drift?

Guppie shots? Must've missed that memo. Considering most of the clubs I've been to have at least one pole, generally two or more, any time I've gone to ones without it does seem a little weird. Although I must admit without one, the ladies get more creative with there performances.

hmmm the shower thing might actually work!

so getting from standing to sitting/laying on the floor gracefully?! how on earth does one do that?! lol

i think i might end up bailing on this club,im not too good at persevering, and i know after a week without a pole, no pole tricks, and no doubt falling over several times, ill go toa nother, just for the sake of having a pole!! lol

thanks for the tips girls. ill defintly try them out at home now!

lol yeah, leaving for a few reasons.

1, i make more money watching tv at home some nights! (after the tip out,i dont make much more) its REALLY quiet!

2,the whole getting fired thing, i get treated the same as before, but its put a huge downer on the trip.

3, i make the same/more money working in aus or nz, working less hours and nights!

4, oh yeah, and its getting cold here! i hate cold weather ( why am i moving to the uk then you ask? lol dunno! im nuts!)

I'm working at Ricks, a club with no poles. Yeah, it sucks. I find myself repeating the same moves over and over in order to take up time.

A lot of good suggestions here. One of the best dancers I ever saw did not use the pole much, she twirled in a silk robe (kind of like a burlesque cape show) did a lot of moves against the mirror, and would just make sexy little moves once seated in front of a customer....nothing nasty, just actions that appeared to be "all for you, baby.."
You appear wonderfully tall, mermaid, so see if you can use your arms and legs to gently touch customers and just do little poses in front of them.

At the Bush Company in Alaska there is no pole on the stage, but they allow floorwork so I just did a lot of that especially since I am partial to 7" heels...

They don't have poles at PEC, and I think it goes without saying that there is no floorwork either. The dancers I saw onstage just spent a lot of time gyrating seductively. The DO have a fan in the stage that blows on you though, for that Uber-glam cover of a magazine photoshoot feeling. I can't wait for that! They had one of those at Treasures in Vegas and it is so much fun!

If there's floorwork allowed, that helps to break up the monotony, otherwise you'll likely just spend a lot of time shimmying and prancing on stage.
