Default burning and discomfort (Woman Issues)

OK 6 months pregnant, just had a checkup yesterday and I dont have a UTI. I decided I was going to shave my public area which i always do ( I hate hair) after I was one with success of no cuts scrapes or anything i was washing with an all natural cucmber and aloe soap and suddenly had this burning sensation around the area of my lips and clit so i washed the soap off. After my shower I had to urinate and when the urine touched my lip area it burned a lot, but if i pull the lips apart and dont like the urine touch them i'm fine. Any clue what going on with my body?? This was the best place I figured to turn to before I call a friend, oddly enough i'm more comfortable talking to all of you.

    Thanks In Advance

I had the same thing happened when I got waxed for the first time while being pregnant. I think it's because those little areas are more sensitive now, but it will go away after a day or so. Mine lasted just a few hours. I was really soar and it was burning so bad, but it went away really quick. If it doesn't go away in a day call the Dr. it may be a small infection, being pregnant makes you more prone to yeast infections and that may be part of it. Let me know what happens.

I experieced the samething bout a week ago and thought it was a yeast infection. I went to the doctor.....doc told me I had a bacterial infection, gave me a prescription---1dose--and now I'm all better!!! My suggestion if it does not get better go to the doctor.

maybe it was an alergeric reaction down there or maybe there is some kind of harsh alcohol ingredient in it to like make it burn.

Vixie you must have been right, wokeup this morning, no discomfort at all. I guess i'll be thinking twice before i shave next time, at least maybe try a different soap or lotion. That definitly wasn't a fun experience, thanks for all your advice everyone its greatly appreciated

Ivy, I hear 'ya. It's really weird how that works now that we're pregnant. It seems like everything hurts! The stinging doesn't last very long but when you're in pain down there it can seem eternal! Mine went away really quick within hours but I remember thinking that it was going to last forever and I was going to have to go to urgent care. Now when I get wax I bring with me a cooling aloe vera gel to put around the lip area so that it doesn't start to burn, I make sure that I avoid the insides in every way possible. So far so good.

Glad to hear you're feeling better :o)

Sounds like irritation. Soap...ah yes irritant. Do cool water spritzes out of anything that you can squeeze water out of....Feels so good! Let the area relax, your buring comes from urine which is acid touching sensitive skin that has just been shaved.

Sounds normal, keep an eye on any changes though. And try to just trim up some hair. OH how do you use soap down there? I have to use a cleanser that is liquid and mild or i will burn as well.

Most soaps have lye in them, even "natural" ones.

It's better to use a mild, non-soap cleanser on your womanly bits. No powder!

doing any type of douche while pregnant is very dangerous. Thankfully the problem went away by itself in a few hours, because i'm pregnant the skin just must be a lot more sensative then usual
