    Default Long-Lasting Shave?

Okey girls, confess. What are your secrets?
I can't afford to get my usual wax, so it's to the razor I go. I have to shave my arm pits, legs, and kitty completely smooth, and have it last atleast a few days. Whenever I shave, it burns like a mother for hours afterwards, and I get a ton of ingrown hairs in a day or two (yeah for gross details!)
A million kisses to anyone who can offer some tips!

If it burns hours after shaving, I'm thinking maybe you're not using shaving cream? You have to use a good shaving cream, and a fresh razor, and moisturize well after shaving. To prevent ingrowns you can use TendSkin after shaving (that will burn but only for a second). You can also glide a deodorant over the shaved area to prevent ingrowns. Nothing can really make a shave last long, the hair grows no matter what, unless there's something out there I don't know of.

I was just thinking about that today. I'm looking into buying my own professional wax kit. I did some research on the net and the gigi kit is about 60 bucks. It costs 45 to get legs and underarms every two weeks

Cheapest good shave: soak in warm-to-hot bath. Use Skintimate Shave Gel (thick, foams up) and Shick Effects Razor (with the wire filaments over the blades so you don't shred the hell out of your leg skin) Shave hair after letting cream sit on legs for a minute to soften the hair.
(I pluck some hair- I tried sugar wax but it didn't seem to work that well. Big messy hassle.) I will never touch Nair again after the chemicals made a cut on my mouth balloon up. UGH!!!

I've tried and tried, but nothing quite makes the shave last. However, try PFB Vanish for that razor burn. It stings like a mother when you put it on, but it really helps. Without it, I look like I've got the pox. Works well post waxing, too.

The best shaving cream is Kiss My Face Moisture Shave.

I'm having good luck (after 2 months) with the Aveeno shave cream that is supposed to slow growth (can't remember the name right now but it states this attribute on the can). It took a bit but now I am seeing results. I also concur with the TendSkin recommendation.

Kiss My Face products (which I also like) can be found at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Wild Oats Markets. They do not, however, slow hair growth like the Aveeno shave cream.

Bombshell, I got it from my aesthetician in Tucson, (haven't found one I really like here in Dallas yet, I'm pretty picky about who frosts the cupcake) but you can find more info on their site at http://www.pfbvanish.com/ It's pricey, but it's a roll-on gel, so the bottle goes a long ways.

Personally I use a mans razor. I think its better because its alot sharper and has more blades than some funky chic razor. I use Dove moisture bar while shaving and other cleasing activites. Makes me feel soft all over. Also, about every week I lightly exfoliate the area such as under arms and the hoo hoo took make it look less darker when I am done shaving. You know the dark area in your arm pit that makes it look like you havent shaved enough?...yea like that. As for the exfoliating thing I dont rub it all up in "there"- thats not a great idea.

If you shave "there", like I know we all have to do, and your skin looks or feels rough, wierd as it sounds....after you pat-dry your delicates, use an ivisible deodorant on yor skin. It will keep you from getting razor burn. Repeat as necessary.

For razor burn there is this stuff that African-American men use on their beards after they shave... it's like a cream.. I don't remember what it's called, but I used to use it often when I shaved completely and it helped a LOT of my razor burn and bumps!

Just check out the African-American beauty products section at your local grocery store
