Woo hoo! I'm starting at PEC next week!
I read the recent thread by another poster that wrote they wouldn't even let her in the door but I just walked up with my suitcase, smiling, and said I was there to audition. I was led to the dressing room and greeted by the housemom. I was already made-up with my hair done, and was told to put on a gown and heels and that I would do half a song on a small side stage and to start stepping out of my gown very soon after getting on the stage. There was another girl auditioning there too and she told me to go first. I was fine with that.
The stage WAS tiny, plus it was 3 feet off the ground but with no steps leading up to it! So I'm trying to hop up and shimmy up on the thing as gracefully as possible in my gown, do my thing for about a minute, then I'm told I can get down...
I have to do the paperwork and everything when I start next week, but I'm glad I got a spot since it's their busiest time of year and they really do have so many dancers clamoring to work there. I really am surprised I got hired, not because I don't think I'm pretty enough to work there, but because they can pretty much have their choice of who to hire and that kind of thing can be really subjective at clubs that are "hot".
About the club: It is beautiful inside! I've seen it on their website, and it's full of muted colors, soft curves and almost none of the typical cheesy strip club decor. It feels more like a cool, upscale lounge, unlike the forced frat-party atmosphere at Hustler Baltimore.
The housemom was friendly, though efficient and a little blunt. I didn't take it personally since they have several dancers auditioning there daily. I have no idea if they hired the girl that auditioned with me. The dressing room was perhaps the smallest of any club I've worked in. Most of the dancers were finishing up getting ready when I was changing, and it was a bit claustrophobic since I'm used to bigger rooms, even though I'm not the type to hang in the dressing room during my shift. But the dressing room itself was nice and they have makeup and hairdressing available.
I'm really excited about working there! I'm not expecting to make $1K a night every night, but I think I'll do well there. So there's the info, from someone who managed to get hired. This club is so mythologized on the boards here, I wanted to clarify a few assumptions. Yes, they're selective, but you don't have to be "perfect" to get hired. I'm certainly not. My advice if you want to try out is to go for it. The worst thing they can say is no, and they might even hire you if you try out again at a later date.
Anyway, I'll let y'all know how it goes!
And what so many people are dying to know...are the dancers really that hot? Yes, they are certainly beautiful. However, as Adina once wrote in a recent thread, if they were going to be supermodels they would be. But they're definitely the largest concentration of attractive dancers at any club I've worked at, bar none.
But I don't see it as having more competition, rather as a challenge to make myself stand out and keep my hustle sharp. I got a little lackadaisical in that department at Hustler, since they had maybe 3 attractive dancers there.
