    Default Cardio vs. @home

The strangest thing is happening to me. I've been working out for almost a month consistently, and the first three weeks I was going to the gym 4-5 days/wk doing 30-45 mins of cardio plus 20-30 mins of lifting weights. I saw no results whatsoever. This week I've been really tired so I've been waking up late and I decided to skip the cardio but do little mini-workouts in my room. I've done crunches, pushups, lunges, squats and leg-lifts. What's strange is that ever since I stopped going to the gym I've seen major changes that I am in love with! Could it be that the simple mini-workouts are better than the treadmill and weight machine?

Well...it takes several weeks to really see changes in your body when you begin a workout routine. Chances are, you have not been using heavy enough weight/proper body alignment when doing your weight routine...if you are doing 20-30 minutes of weights...you are just flying through.

Isometrics are a wonderful, wonderful workout. You've never seen a gymnast in bad shape, have you? The best thing about isometrics (push-ups, squats, etc) is that you utilize your full body to do them. You are using your body weight. Start learning to do hand-stand push-ups and all and you'll be good to go.

I think, personally, you are seeing the results of a little of both. They're both good.

You may see quicker (as you are) results doing certain moves at home. I saw people at the gym who are not really into it, they work too fast or slow, do a few weights/sets one one part of the body too quickly, then they move off to another body part..fast. It's not enough.

What it sounds like you are doing is taking your time, sculpting and seeing results. My legs will show (thighs) results in a few days if i do a heavy set of 4 sets with 8 reps. Not so if my weights are to light.

Sometimes the best thing to use for workouts are our ow body weight!
    Good for you!

I know work out at home now too, it's great....My body is my gym!
