just wondering. Looking for a good ps.

I would not really recommend my ps, since he was an ENT specialist, who only did a bit of minor shaving, it really doesn't look any different now than before. Instead of a bump, its just crooked, but I digress....
I had insurance to cover the medical necessity of the treatment (major deviated septum from breaking), but the cosmetic portion cost 2k. Since the anesthesia and hospital were covered under insurance, I would tack on at least another $1,500 if you are doing it for purely cosmetic procedure....

kat, did it hurt as bad as everyone is telling me? How long did it take for the swelling to subside?
When you go to have a deviated septum fixed, does a PS do that? I've been meaning to do that for a while now, and just curious.

I had mine done for 4800$ In Austin.
And yeah, it hurts, and it's also kind of a pain in the ass. But then the same goes for any PS.
As for swelling, the Dr. told me that most of it goes away in two weeks, and then the remaining swelling that will be visible to other people goes away in about three months. After that you will still have some very minor swelling (that only you and your Dr. will probably notice) that will take up to a year to go away.

I paid 4800 for mine in 98. My doctor is awesome he did my breasts too. I didnt have any pain at all except for right when I came out of surgery. I kept thinking when the meds wore off I would but didnt. No bruising either. But it is uncomftorable because you cant breath through your nose for a while because of the packing. Well worth it though. Best money I ever spent. Completley changed mt appearance.

I've considered rhinoplasty myself, yet in my neck of the woods, I know of no good ps who do rhinoplasty. It seems a nose job is something no one around here likes to share info about. I guess it is kinda personal..but after talking to a few people..I'm actually kinda scared to get it done..so many people want to get their noses redone because something didn't go right..I'm also not real found of the recovery time..I was only out of work for about 2 weeks with both my BAs. From the sounds of it...I may not be able to return to work for a month or longer. Financially, I couldn't afford that and the way money is, its hard to save any right now..For right now I'm not going to get my nose done..Thing is, I look at my mom, and the older she got the larger her nose got..And I must say.... I really don't want the family nose. For right now..it looks fine..But in the future, that could be a different story.
Brittany, who did you go to in Austin? Would you recommend this ps? I want to get mine re-done by a PS, only for aesthetic purposes this time...
Yes, it hurt like hell, especially pulling the gauze out of my nose.....

I want to do this like asap! can you give me his contact info?

I sent you a PM Katrine. I think he charges about $100 for the initial consultation. And he didn't pack my nose full of gauze after the surgery either like so many other PS do. He did put it in a plaster cast for a week though, which was a bit of a pain in the ass.
He's also one of the more expensive PS in this area, but I've always been happy with all of the work that he's done for me. Sometimes I think you get what you pay for.

Tampa, he is dr. Charles Mcglaughlin on habanna in tampa. He is the best I have seen. I went to 6 others for consults and his work is the best. I wouldnt thin it would be more than around 5 maybe he will give you a discount if you mention I sent you. If you had your boobs done too I know he would do a bit of a discount and you wouldnt pay for anhestisa(sp?) twice. Pm me if you need more info.
I paid about $6000 for mine about 10 years ago in New Orleans.
I have a friend that paid $6,000 in Florida.
