Whenever I visit a club, I think of it as going to a casino, but with more predictable results. I always bring just enough cash as I would want to spend.

Good idea, unfortunately you can use your CC and get funny moneyOriginally Posted by RedZ28
Yeah I know and if I ever did, forget about it LOL. But I can't get past that whole club gets ten percent off the top and they lop another ten percent when paying the ladies.

CC's are a bad idea in clubs for a whole host of reasons. First, the obvious - overspending. Second, get too drunk and you may well wind up having lots of charges added to bill that you didn't really incur - happens all the time around here. Third, when suit was filed against clubs in Houston over CC related matter last year, lots of guys started worrying because it was clear if suit continued discovery would include list of CC users at clubs - and for painfully obvious reasons the fact that they've been in a club charging $$$ would cause them huge problems if it ever came out and got loose in public. And finally, now that HSD has seized bank accounts at largest clubs in city and U.S. Attorney is investigating owners, government undoubtedly has (or will soon have) list of names of CC users - and Lord only knows what could eventually come of that.![]()

Cripes! I have had to use plastic, due to long term unemployment. What you mentioned, that is unreal.

Exactly! I take only the amount of green I want to spend in and leave the CCs in the car. Sure, I have occasionally been tempted to run out and at least grab the teller card but have never given in to that temptation.Originally Posted by RedZ28

There's a simple maxim to follow concerning the use of CC's at a strip club...

I think I've mentioned it before. Cell phone and wallet get left in car out of sight. Last thing I want to do is lose either in the cushions while getting a LD.
For a grand, I'm sure you had a very memorable night.

Thanks for spending that grand on me baby...

I'm surprised about the number of customer votes against CCs, particularly from some of the respected SW veterans. I may want to reconsider my cash management philosophy.
At my home club, which is a full-nude, no-LD club, I have a cash budget for the dancers but I do take a CC along for table charges (drinks, food, waitress tips.). For dancer tipping, I know all the dancers who will be there, and how long I will stay, so it's easy to have some idea of how much cash I will need. I've never had to go back to the ATM on any given night (well, yet).
CCs obviously can't be used for the dancers in this club since there are no LDs or CRs or funny money, so there is a lower risk of overspending.
I can't run a decent table without the CCs, though, because of spending variability (how many dancers sit at my table throughout the night -- varies from about 6 through 10 or so), what is ordered and how long each stays. I've tried doing everything with cash, but if you try to stick to a budget in this scenario, the table can sometimes end up draining tipping cash, which doesn't work. You still need the CC flexibility here, assuming you have flexibility in your "total" budget.
I trust management implicitly, and they me (the waitresses all know me and long ago stopped asking me for the CCs up front and the floor managers keep my table) so I'm not overly concerned about abuse or fraud.
If there's more CC risk than I'm not aware of, I'd be interested in learning about that as well as other cash management options customers have used.
Amen to that sista. I was looking to find a positive response somewhere.Originally Posted by Coralynn

Exactly.I think one of the reasons you see "veterans" saying cash only is because they're disciplined enough to not overspend at clubs - therefore, they can afford to be veterans because they stick a little better to their budget. So often when guys pull out the plastic, they're overspending. Then follows regret, remorse, and the return trip is put back for a while. Veterans learn to not do that.
On those very rare occasions where I'm having trouble remembering my name because my head is swimming in testosterone, the only reason I can walk out and leave without difficulty is because I'm out of my alloted cash. Rare is the day I bring more (or less) than $500 with me, and not resorting to a credit card keeps this hobby affordable and enjoyable; as NinaD is fond of reminding us, strip clubbing is a luxury expenditure and not one that I need to go into debt over.

I NEVER use plastic-not even for drink tabs. For me, it's just to easy to say "OK honey, order whatever you like" when a hot dancer starts wrapping herself around me at the bar or at my table.
This hobby is supposed to be fun. How can you feel good about yourself if you spent money you couldn't afford. No offense to the ladies but they are working. None of them are going to say " No honey, 10 dances is plenty, we don't have to do anymore." I wouldn't expect them to.
Don't be stupid, don't spend the milk money.

I probably spent about 1/2 the grand on pity dances... all I need to do is say no more and I will leave with a lot more $. I get the drinks on tab because it's easier to just tip the waitress at the end rather than keep shelling out money...
I probably won't be going back for a few weeks though - don't want to make a habit out of it.....
It's not one hot dancer, it's usually between six and a dozen of them.Originally Posted by yoda57us

Trust me, I'm not spending the milk money. I actually do stick to budget, although it's a fairly decent one. BUT...the club has no LDs and no CRs; it's just tips and what you spend on your tab at the table. This gets you a lot farther than in typical lap clubs, as you know.

Yeah I think I sept my cash between about 6 girls, but a majority of it was with 1 girl who got to be very annoying after keep asking for dances. I actually tried to point some other customers out to her.
well, what do you expect her to do?!
