O.K, LADIES...I need some help. I work in a club where we're allowed to do theme shows. I've decided to set myself on fire. (No, really, I'm joking). Any ideas where I can get the fire wands? My show is in a week...HELP!!!!

the only fire trick I know is the matches on the nipple trick. lol jeez please be careful setting yourself on fire sounds really dangerous! why don't you just do a hot wax show instead?

Actually i have done fire shows before. You have to be careful though. It usually dosent hurt to rub the wands over your sking as long as you do it fast but it will singe the little hairs on your arms and stuff. Make sure you put your hair up and wear thongs that you are not particularly attached to. I set a pair on fire on accident. (no damage dont to anything but side strings.) As for wear to get them, I got mine at a novelty shop called Crazy Earls. I dont know if the one in town is the only one or not. They sell all kinds of stuff like magic stuff and lighters to bongs and dildos. Just all kinds of things. Make sure you soak the sticks OVER NIGHT before you use them. If they dont soak for a LONG time then you will have problems lighting them and keeping them lit which will completly ruin the whole show.

Thank-you so far, girls. One problem, though...I found a place on the web (of course) that sells fire wands, but they only accept credit cards. (I DON'T HAVE ONE). Can any of you INCREDIBLY intelligent women direct me where to go?

Quite a few banks sell MasterCard/Visa gift cards that work just like credit cards. You may want to try seeing if any local banks have them. I've used them before and they work fine. Good luck!

Go get yourself a checking account with a debit card. And please be careful with the fire show. And practice--I saw some really shitty-looking amateurish fire show at the Fare in Dallas and it was painful to watch.

I have to say that I have always wanted to make a dress out of flash paper and then burn it off of myself. I think that would be spectacularly cool.

Does your club have the dimensions to do a fire show? It sounds risky. but if all the conditions suit and you're confident (and experienced) that it's ll go down well, g'luck. x

I am unsure how a fire wand works but I used to do a devil show and I would set myself on fire.... you put hair moose or shaving cream on yourself, light a small spot with a lighter then rub it in and it goes out. You can do this in your hands, anywhere on your body... you can also get someone from the audience to help you out by lighting up a spot or 2.

Uh...sounds like a neat idea, but is there a sheer fire-resistant body stocking and flame-retardant hair/skin gel you could wear? I bet stuntman websites have info for this stuff. I know some Hawaiian dancers do fire juggling, etc, but this is different. I met a guy with burn scars all over his arms from a petrochemical plant accident and it wasn't pretty. Better safe than sorry.....
