Default surgery for under eye circles?

im sure theres gotta be a procedure for this one.

i have heraditiory dark under eye circles ( thanks for that mum...) that i hate, cos they make my face look alot older and it makes my look tired or whatever.

is there a surgery procedure to get rid of them?
i looked at lazer stuff briefly, but it seems to be more for veins and discolouring., and i did a serch, and mainly found concealer as the only answer

Well if there bags then blepharplasty can help but if its dark circles just creams. They have ones for lightening up the area. Loreal makes some and oil of olay has a good one. Since you are not in the states I dont know the brands available to you over there but just look for something that says it lightens or brightens the eye area.

But yes, try a heavy concealer from lancome or mac.

Not to sound all metrosexual, but I have these dark circles under my eyes too. I can get 10 hours of good sleep and still have them. Mermaid, if you ever find out more about getting rid of them, let me know, ok?

I have them to, but find that MAC concealer works to cover them without looking silly like a lot of other concealers do when you put them around the eyes.

I have terrible hereditary undereye circles and bags. In a few years I'm going to have my eyes done with this doc:

    http://www.drhoenig.com/press2.html

I've also heard that Dr. Brandt gets good results with Restylane to the undereye area, but I'd want to research a dermatologist/PS very carefully before I let them wield a sharp object anywhere near my eyes.

In all those pics, the patients had make up on in the after photos, so there's no way to tell if the procedure covered up the darkness of the undereye circles. And in the before/after pics of the man, allthough the indentations of the undereye circles have been removed, they are basically the same color.

As for sharp objects near the eyes, I've had an eyelid lift done on one of my eyes (I had a lazy eye). It hurt bad, because dissolvable stiches - three of them - were on the inside of my eyelid, and every time I blinked they scratched on my eye. Also, the swelling, and the bruising that occured around my eye wasn't all that pleasant. I also had to be awake during the procedure, to be able to move my eye around (and out of the way of the sharp objects lol) so I was only given a local anesthesia.

I have the same circles and believe me if there was a surgical treatment out there I'd have had it....unfortunately, there isn't.

A bleph is good for skin and fat excess but the dark pigmentation seems to be from either heredity or allergies (so called atopic shiners). Creams and potions are as good as anything for it. I'd be scared to do restylane for that problem.

I have been getting consults from plastic surgeons for my eyes because I have dark circles and puffiness. They said it would not take away the darkness. It may look a little lighter because the fat wouldnt be there pushing and making the dark circles more noticable but thats about that. Just try a good cream at your age that should work well. Also I dont know if you smoke but that makes ir worse also poor diet. Salmon is suppose to work well and lots of veggies.

Do under eye circles also have some sort of link to nutrition? Supposedly if you aren't getting enough nutrients in your body... you can acquire under eye darkness/circles ?

Just wondering if anyone heard of this or if its "an old wives tale" as such ?

    Lena & Mermaid,

I have used fresh potato slices and Tucks pads with excellent results to get rid of puffiness. But I have also found that doing a good amount of cardio and taking warm showers works well too.
