my boy has a simmilar thing, he takes saint johns wort, but the liquid and hes fine. but he said it tates horrible
Hit the gym!!! Work out hard!!! Good way to stop stress. Also this may sound silly but listen to some good relaxing music when you go to bed. I put on Enya (any of her music is good) By the time the first side is over I am sound asleep. Calming music by the way. (Kind of odd I like Enya seeing I grew up in the 80's hair band days!!! And still listen to it and love it!!!)

You hit the nail on the head ! I am usually stressed out and its not a good feeling. The only thing that helps is working out, yoga and learning how to breathe to calm myself down. I grew up in a Stress Petri Dish, so I learned so many ways to deal with stress. I think stress kills. Did you know the Japanese have a special word for death by stress? Just like the special word for MSG.
Drinking to stop stress IS bad, but it is one of the oldest depressants. And legal......
A homeopathic product from Hylands called "Calms" has helped me immensely. You can usually get it at Wild Oats Market or Whole Foods if not your local grocery store. All my friends swear by it now and it actually helped me cut down on the wine I drink at work (which I was drinking for stress - bad!).

Shaking, and can't calm down. Have you ever thought about a lack of proper nutrition/vitamins. Lack of Magnesium can cause serious problems, especially if you drink fairly heavy. As can many other lack of vital minerals/nutrients.
If i feel rested, i will do some stretching with a head set on and listen to music that is slow, and calming. Or pop in a good movie, read a book. Anything that takes you away from feeling so high strung.
Warm bath, cozy pj's and a nice book sounds real good.
If all else fails.....yep ^ most prescribed drug around, Xanax.

I love going to the gym, I do get lots of energy from it. But I don't have enough money to spend on a gym right now, I have to keep my money tight.![]()

Sounds like you have anxiety like I do. I get panic attacks too. I just have to make myself concentrate on one thing at a time, or I'll have weeks like you're having right now. Is there anything you can really throw yourself into? Books? A pet? Something crafty?
I take Bachs Rescue Remedy when I can't eat or sleep. It's homeopathic, and helps you deal with stressful situations. I've heard good things about Calms as well. As for not being able to eat-don't force it. Drink some tea (non-caffiene!), and eat little, easy things to eat-yogurt with fruit or wheat germ, or toast or mashed taters. Carbs really hep relax me, I've found.
Also-I agree about checking out your diet and vitamin intake-I feel better now that I take a multivitamin everyday.

I'm a bit stressed too. When I get home from work I have trouble sleeping and keep thinking about work and how to do better and alot of times end up lying in bed from 2:30- 7:00 am trying to sleep. I'm doing a bit of yoga, take hot baths, and have lavender oil which help a little. I'm taking a couple days off which I'm looking forward too though. I'm going to rememer you guys suggestions though.


Vyanka ... I'm the same way and have been for years! I've danced, did the gym, yoga, etc. It never helps.
I stay away from pills, prescription AND otherwise ... chemicals to fix one thing always seem to mess something else up.
So ... I just keep busy. When I can't sleep, I'm working on something.
Anxiety attacks! Uggggggggh! The worst is when I'm driving somewhere and get one. You have to try to concentrate on something different than whatever you were thinking about. Mind control can be a very powerful thing. Really!![]()
^ very good point. The mind is were every thing starts! Why not educate yourself about anxiety? Go to the library and get a few anxiety disorder books?
God knows we all have some anxieties about something. But your sounds like it may be messing with you a tad too hard. You have to eat.
