    Default eyelash tints

at my club, there is an esthetician who comes to do spray tanning-- i let her do it for me once, but i hated it (my skin does not absorb the stuff quickly-- it took me an hour and a half to dry and then it started sloughing off immediately, making me look like i had patches of dirt on me!). recently, she started doing eyelash tints...

and i'm in LOVE! i haven't worn mascara for a month, my eyelashes look tons longer because the tips (which are usually light golden) are dark, and they feel thicker and don't itch from mascara. i highly recommend this if you have a sensitivity to mascara (or if you just want your eyes to look gorgeous first thing in the morning ). it only takes 15 minutes, costs $30, and it lasts really well for a month, then gradually fades as your eyelashes fall out and get replaced (about 3 months).

    anyone else have this done?

What is the process like? What chemicals does it use? Does it give you a "false lash" type of look. My lashes are all crappy from falsies and I want them to look better!

Is there a proper name for this?

sorry i'm so late in responding to this.

the chemical that they use is a peroxide free dye (so as not to hurt your eyes and eyelids). while just dying them will not give you a full on falsey look, when paired with mascara, they look HUGE. plus, after just a month of me not wearing any mascara at all, they got so plump and healthy that they looked better than they ever did when i wore mascara.

from what i understand its just called eyelash dying or tinting.

also, talika makes a couple of interesting products which i haven't tried, but which one girls at my club swears by: eyelash conditioning cream and also lash extender (which seems really weird to me!).

when i want to get a falsie look for mine, i use tony and tina's lash dew-- the special wand makes them fall together in little groups so they have that cool spiky look to them, but its even instead of clumpy. though it only comes in blue, its totally unnoticeable that its blue unless you're in direct sunlight, and even then only if you point it out to someone.

Cool, thanks! Mine are sooo shitty, I bought 2 products to try and fix:

DreamLash- clear, supposed to put on before bed to increase eyelashes. I havn't put it on daily and havn't seen any difference.

Lash in a Tube- Physicians Formula brand. Supposed to give you the falsie look. I just got it, seems to be a good mascara, but Loreal Voluminous is still my ATF so far.

Being that I'm Asian,I am stuck with short lashes so I have to wear the falsies. My make-up is too dramatic to go au naturale.

When I actually had income, I usta go to a beauty salon to get this done. Really liked it! @ that time, I think it cost around $22.00. It seemed to last about 2 - 3 wks for me, tho. I have seen a product that does this for sale @ Sally's Beauty Supply. (You'd probaly need a license to get). I use the Maybelline XL Volume Mascara, one side has lash conditioner. I've heard Prescriptives makes a great mascara that looks like false lashes, but is expensive.

I get my lashes (blue black) and brows (brown) tinted at a local spa. I love they way my eyes look when my lashes are tinted but, the lady who does the tinting is a little sloppy. So it usually takes me a day to get the extra tint off of my skin.

    Whirlerz,
I used a lash and brow tint by Revlon that I bought at Sally's and I hated it. I could never seem to get the roots.

I used to get this done too! I was all about the blue black tint. I played in a ladies volleyball league, and I was the only one who showed up with no makeup on (but looked like I had sexy lashes) and could wipe my face with a towel and still look awesome. I love it, I also wear falsies...sometimes during the day if i'm doing some cool makeup with a daring outfit or something...but I definitely reccomend the tint. The procedure isn't the most comfortable, it feels like the stuff is seeping into your eyes even though it isn't...but definitely worth it.

I regularly get this done, though I just get black, not blue-black. is that better? It comes out a little more dramatic the longer you leave it on. Costs between 25- 30 at most places, and is made from vegetable dye. I love it, and would like to know how this blue black compares to regular black. Anyone?

I think blue black looks richer and darker. You should try it, I used to only use black on my lashes until one of the ladies at the spa suggested blue black to me.

Hi Farrah holiday, I'm just wondering what color are your eyelashes? Mine are brown cause I'm a natural brunette. But will the blue black work for me, or are my lashes too brown already?
    Anyone?
    Thank you!

Mine are blondish brown. I don't think the tint will be too dark for you. If you want to see what it would look like on you just buy blue black mascara and give it try .

I tried the blue black, and it does look much nicer. Thanks for the info.

Eyelash perm is something to make your lashes curl. It works really well but I had a friend get really sick because the lady who did hers didn't get all the chemical off. Her eyes got really infected. It looks awesome though.

My eyelashes are blonde so I'd LOVE to have them tinted! I might have to check in to this! My aesthetician tints my eyebrows for me....I wonder if she can do lashes too....

I have wanted to get my lashes permed for a LONG time. I recently found out that the place where I get my nails done offers it. After reading your posts I am thinking twice about getting it done.

Just make sure they wipe it off completely. Ask them to rinse your eyes twice or even three times.

If you guys saw my eyelashes you'd hate me, they are so long and thick that I used to cut them when I was in high school and with with mascara people often think they are fake. nanananana.
