I've decided to get in shape once and for all!!
Being that it's getting colder here in NY I don't want to be out jogging. Wondering what all you ladies like to do to keep in shape cardio wise.
Jogging
Jumping rope
Swimming

I just voted jumping rope for myself. I could do that in my apartment.
Dance or run the dogs!

Gotta go with the elliptical. I love the quick results that I get with jogging, but I burn out slower on the elliptical. It's also WAY better for my knees.
I am all about the elliptical (sp?) trainer! Or, at least, I would be if I still had a gym membership... Moving to a totally different state sucks. I love them because I can just keep going, and going, and going. Jogging I can't do for too long because of an old skiing injury, but the elliptical trainer makes me feel like I can keep going forever, as long as the Venga Boys are on my iPod.

I love, love, love jogging for fast results, though my knees complain at times if I do it too often on concrete. Other than that, dancing is GREAT for toning, especially if you do pole tricks.
Yeah, I'm trying with the pole. I can climb, but not get down in any flashy way- just slide. And spin around it holding it behind a knee.
I do elliptical trainer, running, step, pole work and, occasionally, skipping. I love cardio not only because of the whole weight issue, but because I love the release of hormones. It definitely does help to make me feel a little better and more enthusiastic about showing up to the gym!
There is a girl I work with who has a body that looks like she lifts weights (think amateur body builder) but the only thing she does is pole work! She don't think she likes her legs hence why she ALWAYS wears thigh-highs but I would kill for a strong physique like hers. But in other ways, I'm glad that I have good tone and not too much of the bulk that might make me appear a little less feminine-looking.

I LOVE Vinyasa Flow...Power Yoga...that stuff.

joggin....helps you stay fit...& tones your buns....nothin like aq jiggle free ass when u run!!
I'm not sure if this is cardio or not, but i just recently joined curves with a friend and its so unbelievably easy! they use all hydrolic machines and its a 1/2 hour workout ATLEAST 3 times a week, and I love the results...if you're lazy like me, I'd check it out

What do you do during the workout???
My preference is to do about 20 mins on the elliptical trainer while watching world series of poker at the gym, then an hour of weights. I get double workout yelling at the TV when I disagree with the betting...
BUTT (hehehe) I can be pretty lazy and when I really want to push it, I take an hour long aerobics/weights class. I took step and sculpt on Friday followed by 4 hours of stage and lap dancing. My calves still hurt this morning! Kick boxing aerobics and calisythetics types classes are also great. I am going to try spinning next since I like to ride my bike around all the time anyway....
Also, yoga isn't aerobic per say, but its so good for stength and flexibility, I try to go at least once a week!

Outside of work.. walking is my preferred cardio "workout". Every step counts.
If I don't walk then I will ride my bicycle (if the weather is good and I'm motivated). Plus Pilates (Winsor)... I'm pretty set.
Activity is the key. Be active... not so much exercise per-say... just be more active.
I jump rope every so often as well.
As for colder weather cardio ideas: walk on the spot. This is what I do during winter here on the Gold Coast (granted, it isn't as cold as NY...)... it not only helps me stay active during winter.. but reduces my energy/electricity costs as I'm not using a heater.

I just did a Cardio Blast class at my gym and I LOVED IT!!! It's so much easier to push yourself when you're having instruction...for me, anyways. Lots of choreography, which I love, because I used to dance(ballet, jazz). FUN STUFF!!
But other than that I love the elliptical trainer because I have a tendancy towards shin splints. And I ride my bicycle everywhere.
I wish I could swim well, though, it's such a good workout if you can do it!
