It's people determined to have Sammy raise their kids for them, that's all. John Ashcroft was after online porn with a vengence, nothing changed...
I'm not even a little worried. All the anti porn activists in the world since the '70's haven't done squat.
Oh too many of the legislators themselves consume porn. I think they support anti-porn measures to appease the electorate.
Posturing. That's all.
If there were ever going to be anything done about porn in a serious way, they lost their chance after the Meese Commission basically said there was no scientific evidence to support such claims in the main. Remember that there are now more research centers in the US solely focused on human sexuality than in the years when the Meese Commission came out, and there's more data now than ever before. They'll have a hell of time trying to make their case that porn is empirically, fundamentally problematic rather than anecdotally problematic (which, truth be told, it can be.)
That said, it would be pretty retarded to fund science to prove a policy agenda in this regard. Brownback is a name thrown around in GOP circles for president in 2008, but with stuff like this, he'll never get serious consideration, so think of it as a double-edged sword.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

Yeah, I heard it can be a problem.![]()
"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

Brownback, an outspoken Christian conservative who has championed efforts to curb indecency on television and the Internet, said the public is beginning to realize "they don't just have to take it."
Oh, I'm so glad that I voted against this asshat.
Sam Brownback is a posturing moron, and a classic example of why those of us who don't agree with the absolutist mindset of people like him should have the right to alternative representation in Congress. Frankly, he can tell me what smut I can watch or download when he pays my tax dollars.
So Senator Sam, if you're visiting SW as part of your proposed witchhunt, let this constituent give you something to read. -->![]()
Former SCJ now in rehab.
Considering the amount of money it generates for the US Economy. I doubt they would try all that hard to eliminate it.

Yeah, just like illegal drugs make BIG money for the law enforcement funding and the lawyer industry, they will not try hard enough to fix that, but just to apppease the public's concern.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
