    Default Being Goofy!

For some reason the club was dead all night, and since I did the last stage of the night, I wanted to cheer everyone up. I danced to "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer and "Me So Horny" by 2 Live Crew, and just popped my booty a lot (and yes I did the whole "STOP - Hammertime!") The girls loved it, but the guys in there (yeah, all five of them) were like... wtf.

What's the silliest thing you've done onstage or during a dance/conversation with a customer?

lol..... Goofiest would have to be dancing to that song that goes "I like big butts and I cannot lie". I dunno if that's too goofy but I was laughing all the way through it.

I'm kinda goofy all the time, it's part of my thing. Giggling, joking, making smart-ass remarks - but I guess it's sort of a sarcastic smart-ass goofy mixed in with the sexy. Even on stage, I'll make some sexy move with seductive eyes in front of a dude and then do something goofy and giggle as I'm taking his $. And I will wise-crack and laugh off most of the irritating comments/questions. It works well for me - most guys seem to like a girl who can be a sexpot and keep it light at the same time.

Some redneck guy tried to pay the DJ off to play Salt N Peppa push it for my song 2. The DJ announced loudly over the mic, "not no, but HELL NO!"

So while my rocknroll second song came on, I danced for this guy onstage like it was
    "Push It"

oooh baby baby, baby baby, push it real good!

That's so funny Katrine, one of the other songs I was going to dance to last night in that set was "Push It". It's a comedic goldmine!

I was once teaching a client the itsy bitsy spider song w/ hand motions (he wanted to learn for his kid). But I kept on getting the weirdest look from EVERYBODY. I didn't care though, it was fun!

It isn't uncommon to catch girls being goofy at our club. It's almost always very well received by the guys which is great. It's nice to know a sense of humor is still appreciated!

the DJ played "Push It" one night for one of the other girls at my club and the girl had never heard it and was so embaressed, she had no idea of what to do. The all time best goofy songs at my club are pretty much all early Prince music being in MN and all.

I've seen dancers attempting to look sexy while staddling the pole and because of how slippery it was, manage to slip off and fall on their ass. The really good ones can laugh at themselves and continue to dance.

I always have goofy moments whenever I dance in Rockhampton..... there is always times when we (the dancers) need to be goofy to entertain each other (as its booooooooring).

The moment I can remember was thanks to a few of us watching the movie Striptease (Demi Moore). There was this one move that she did during one of her performances that we all agreed one of us would have to eventually do that night.

Well... it was boooooring... and since I knew none of the patrons in the club were really interested or even going to tip... I did that move. The other dancers couldn't help but laugh.

    The patrons had no clue.

Most dancers really underestimate the power of humor. I'd so rather a girl make me laugh than try to talk me off (dirty talk). Smiles can be the sexiest things in the world when used, and always make me melt (I.E. part with my duckies). Some of the girls at the club I frequent have a no smiling policy. They almost make it a point to look like they're having no fun. Laugh! There are fun custys, you just have to find them.

We used to do this kind of stuff all the time at Sugar's in Austin in the mid nineties. lol.

One time we did the bunny hop through the club when it was dead. Got us some dances. Guess they just wanted to see us stop?

Also, there used to be this thing called "all dance". The last four songs of the night, if you weren't dancing, you had to be up on stage dancing. Depending on how busy it was, there would end up being no girls or practically all the girls up on stage. On one particularly slow night, we were all up there, and someone had the idea to do a "soul train" dance line. So we all lined up in two lines, and one girl at a time would get in the middle and dance down the lines. One girl did the running man, one the carmen electra booty shake from that old show on MTV, another did the moonwalk, etc. It was hilarious, and it was our revenge on the asshole manager making us all get up there on such a slow night. He was furious, but powerless. The guys in the audience were like WTF? Only a couple of them were witty enough to get it and were laughing along with the girls.

Another time at Sugar's way back when, there was an annoying bunch of non tippers sitting there in the front of the stage not tipping anyone. We decided to get rid of them by playing the most annoying music on the planet. One girl played "flashdance", followed by the theme from "footloose", another played two songs from the movie Grease, I played awful eighties music like "too young to date" and the "pina colada song" and the last girl played eighties rock (the ultra cheesy kind) one of the songs was "If you're not here to have a good time, get the fuck out"....by the end of the last set, the guys packed it up and left. We applauded.

I wish girls this fun still stripped.

I think that working in this industry it is really important to maintin a good sense of humour and not take what you're doing to seriously.

Customers are there to have a good time... if you smack your head on the pole, get your g-string stuck in your hair, get your boots tied together around the pole or catch your hair on fire you have to laugh about it.

Note: the described incidents have taken place over a four year timespan, I wasn't just having a seriously bad night *grin*

... As to goofiest thing, myself and another ex-gymnast usually have handstand competitions on stage of else do the whole "present, remove wedgie, deep breath, begin pole trick" thing...

Which I'm guessing only other ex-gymnasts would find amusing ... *trails off*

I love being goofy, and it fits in with my saucy sarcastic silly personality. I like having fun at work and there have been slow days/nights that I've actually started lightening up the room with funny songs and cracking jokes along with funny dancing. Alot of times there were guys who'd approach me after getting off stage and compliment me like "thanks for cheering me up I needed a good laugh" or "it's good to see that you have a spunky personality" and then the one I like most "that was a rather interesting performance, shall we have a dance?"

Aaaaah, one of the first clubs I had been to, wanted to waitress there in 96. I remember all-dance! One of the best clubs ever in its heyday. Did you work with Kat? She was so beautiful, my boyfriend at the time was in love with her and kept going back to see her since I was only 19 and couldn't go in.......

Kat was the blonde right? If it's the same one, I knew her up until she quit, and she also worked for me in the small internet business that I own.

Yeah, Sugar's used to be one of the best in it's heyday...before the whole of Austin started going downhill. Girls from New York, Vegas, etc. used to come during the summer when it got slow where they were from.

I was still working there in 96. Think it was end of 97 when I finally left, for a while I would stop in occasionally, but haven't been there at all to work in years now.

Now...allthough I hated it, I think all-dance is one thing that they should bring back to Austin. Taught a lot of girls who wouldn't have been able to figure it out otherwise how to hustle, and that hustling works.
